Aurora felt a lot more secure then she did a moment ago, with a shit load of guns strapped to her body. She never felt safe without a gun by her side. She was never picky about the type of weapon she used, not with the endless amount of infected in their way, but as she glanced around the armory she couldn't take her eyes of the sniper rifles. It may not be practical, but who knows when a long range situation may come up?
Alice could feel the tension coming from Chris as he loaded up on guns. The poor guy must have been dying to as why Aurora had been so distant, almost hateful with him. Alice questioned that herself, it wasn't the happy reunion she expected, but she was so used to Aurora's mood swings that it didn't surprise her.
"Are you going to okay to continue?"
Aurora stretched her arms out, sigh contently as her bones cracked"Yeah, don't worry about me. I can almost feel my legs again"She ignored the glare Alice gave her"I'm ready for a battle, you?"
Alice holstered her last gun, turning to Chris"Ready. Chris?"
The soldier packed the last explosive into the pack, and swung the bag over his shoulder as he stood"There must be hundreds of them out there"He eyed the heavy door with his mismatch eyes, hearing the moans and banging behind it"We can't go back that way"
Aurora shrugged with a wistful look as she stared at the heavy machine gun"I say we can. We have the firepower"All the ammo, guns and explosions she could never want.
Alice rolled her eyes. There was no way she was risking her life so Aurora could use the big guns"No, Aurora, we can't kill them all in such a constricted place"
Aurora crossed her arms, scowling at her friend"Maybe you can't"She shuffled back and forth on her feet"If we can't walk out the front door, we're stuck"
"Try not sound so negative"Alice felt like she was scolding a child. Aurora had a knack for getting them in trouble with her downer attitude"Ah,"She smirked, finding her alternative"I have a better idea then certain death"
Aurora followed the brilliant green eyes up to the ceiling, and groaned loudly"More tight spaces?"She complained, tugging at the roots of her wet hair"Can't we take out chances with the zombies?"After crawling through the zombie-made tunnels, tight spaces weren't on the top of her priority list.
"Unless you have another plan that doesn't involve opening the door, no"Alice hopped of the counter, rubbing her hands together"I'll boost you up"
"Don't drop me"
Chris watched their banter with a growing frown, it came so easily in their deadly situation, like this was an average thing. It made him feel shamelessly left out, and also wishing he had never left Aurora in the first place. Maybe he could have saved her from whatever she had gone through? Or made it worse, another part of him cackled back.
"Let me"He offered, making the women turn to him, surprised"I'll boost you up there"
Aurora momentarily forgotten he was there, and wished she could go back to the moment where he wasn't. She sighed when Alice stepped back, offering her place to Chris"Alright"She shrugged, trying to sound indifferent"Maybe he won't drop me"
"One time, Aurora. Let it go"
Aurora grinned, easily stepping into Chris's palm so he could boost her up. She grabbed the grate and could feel the air blowing at her face. It was faint, but the draft had to be coming from somewhere.
Chris looked up, doing his best not to stare at her ass"How do you plan on-"With a single tug, Aurora forcefully pulled the grate off and throwing it aside. Chris winced"Well, that's one way to do it"
