Umbrella had sent another team into the Hive, using an entrance under the Raccoon City suburbs.

It was another small team of well-trained and heavily armed Umbrella soldiers. They thought they were ready for everything, they had been sadly mistaken.

Hundreds of infected men and women poured out of the Hive, mutations straight out of a nightmare followed. The soldiers were quickly overwhelmed and killed within minutes.

The next twenty four hours had been utter chaos.

First the infections hit the suburbs from the sewers under the neighborhood. It slowly transmitted in the air, and infected the rest of Raccoon City. The Military was quick to respond, even if it was Umbrella's own Militia.

Umbrella's clever plan blocked all the exits in and out of town but it wasn't enough. Soon the majority of the city was infected, and Umbrella's Militia enforced a shoot first, ask questions later law that send the city into ruins.

They let lose hell on the small city, and by sunrise it would be a crater created and destroyed by The Umbrella Corporation.

Aurora flinched as she awaited the pain to begin. She had become accustomed to the pain, and knew it would start when she heard her heart monitor. She waited, and waited, and waited some more but the pain never started. In fact, it was almost too quiet.

Aurora forced her eyes open for the first time in what felt like years. She welcomed the darkness and the sound of silence although it was confusing. Where was the sound of patients? Doctors? Nurses? Why hadn't someone come to administer the pain?

An unfortunate sense of Déjà vu hung over her head. Something was very wrong here.

Aurora lifted her head and glanced around the hospital room. The walls were stark white, the blinds were closed, and the door was shut. She had awoken in a normal hospital room, unlike the time in the Hive, and almost gleefully found that she wasn't tied down this time.

She was, however, wearing a thin hospital gown that was stained with blood in some spots.

Aurora sighed as she rested her head down on the pillow; she needed a moment to regroup.

She had no clue how long it had been since the Hive, since Wesker had been letter her suffer by pouring acid in her body.

Alice. The name made Aurora anxious. What had they done to Alice? Had they let Matt mutate or did they save him for something worse? Jesus, had they tested on Alice too? Aurora knew she couldn't, wouldn't live with herself if they had destroyed Alice. Although, she knew hope was slim.

Aurora gathered her strength to sit up and swing her legs over the bed. Her body ached in protest as she stood, but it was refreshing to arch her back and stretch her arms to release the pressure that had gathered.

Under her bare foot, Aurora felt something rough. She glanced down to see a strap sticking out from under the bed. She reached down and pulled it, a dufflebag presented itself. Curiously, Aurora lifted it up and set it on the bed before unzipping it slowly. A folded sheet of paper popped up.

Aurora unfolded the official Umbrella paper and red it out loud;

"My Dear Aurora, I have to evacuate the city on unfortunate circumstances. If you're reading this it means you're alive and I applaud your resolve. One day, you and I will have to sit down and have a proper conversation, until then you need to flee Raccoon City, A. Wesker"

Aurora crumpled the note with a growl, throwing it away from her. "Proper conversation my ass" She scoffed, continuing to dig through the dufflebag.
