Cold air hit the streets of New York waking the city to a cozy morning. Tufts of clouds shielded the city from the sky and the calendar marked the end of fall. It had been few hours since dawn and the honks of vehicles along with the chatter of the pedestrians soon washed away the silence of the streets. For any onlooker, it seemed like just any other normal day but it wasn't the case for everyone.
The Museum of Natural History buzzed with unusual excitement as it's employees rushed around making sure everything was perfect. After a tremendous amount of effort and research expeditions, the museum was finally ready to lift the veil off it's latest exhibit. The fossil collection of what was perceived to be the largest T Rex specimen found in the last few decades and one of the largest of the specimen ever found, took over the news for over a week, floating around the headlines and newspapers alike.
Needless to say, the entire nation was eager to catch a glimpse of the newly assembled dinosaur. The fossil reconstruction of the majestic creature stretched across the hall which was now filled with the museum staff in their best dresses fussing over it. The clicking of heels against the wooden floor caught the attention of the occupants.
"There she is! The woman of the hour!!" exclaimed Charlotte, the leader of one of the numerous research expeditions of this project, eliciting a huge round of applause that echoed in the hall.
Blushing at the sudden attention, the girl in question thanked her colleagues with a polite smile before throwing a glare her friend's way for announcing her presence so loud. Clad in a navy blue dress that grazed the floor ever so lightly, the tall liz eyed beauty glided across the hall greeting her acquaintances along the way and reached the said friend.
"Have you decided a name for this guy?" asked Charlotte nodding her head at the dino on the side.
"Yes but you will have to wait with the others to know the name." replied the girl smirking at her friend. "This is a punishment for drawing unnecessary attention." she added watching her friend's expressions contort into a protesting groan.
Three taps on a microphone caught the entire room's attention again. The director of the museum took over the dias giving a kick start to the party.
"Without further ado, let me present the head of the expedition, the lady behind the success of this project, Dr. Tusharika Naitee." announced the director after the initial introductions prompting a roar of cheers and applause.
The girl, Tusharika, left her friend's side claiming the center of the stage. Flashing a charming smile, she spoke passionately about her project, delving into details yet not losing her grasp over her audience's attention.
"So, Are you ready to take a look at him? Shall I unveil our T-Rex?" she exclaimed, her voice raising an octave.
"YES!!" the audience's scream reverberated through the walls widening Tusharika's smile.
With a tug, she pulled the grey cloth from over the screen separating the dinosaur and the room. "Everybody! Meet OSCAR!" her voice boomed through the microphone.
Gasps echoed through the hall as everyone took in the striking creature in all it's glory. Assigning her teammates to clarify any questions posed by the visitors, she retreated to her cabin at the back of the museum and watched the civilians explore the area with a glass of red wine swirling in her hand.
"Oscar huh? Pretty good name." Charlotte entered the cabin. "Great job out there. You had every single one of them hanging onto your words."
Tusha offered a smile in response. Her eyes flickered through the sketches of Oscar posted on her cabin walls before settling on the package on her desk.
