Day 2
Aedon wanted me in the conference room. It's about Zeke. I knew they'd need to talk to me about it but I didn't expect it to be so soon. I made my way from my room, where I spent the night hiding and processing yesterday, to the conference room.
The door was shut tight. Words spilled through the wood filling my ears with the sound. I could barely make it out. Aedon was fighting over what to do about me. "She needs to leave for our safety." I heard someone say. I didn't recognize the voice so it wasn't one of my new friends.
Before I heard anyone's response I threw open the door and walked in. Everyone turned towards me. I took the seat closest to the door at the bottom in the table. Just to add extra bitchiness, I threw my feet up on the table crossing them over each other.
The new faces in the room gave me dirty looks but the gang beamed at me. They were proud. I chuckled in my head.
"Alexandra." Aedon said with a nod of his head. I nodded my head in return and motioned for them to continue their conversation.
"Like I was saying, Aedon, she shouldn't be here. She didn't grow up like us."
Aedon cut the man off. "Neither did I!"
"You were still a child when you got here."
"Just shut up Coleman. I don't want to hear another word out of you. If I do much as hear a peep you will be killed. Got it?"
He nodded not even risking his life to speak a word.
"So Zeke..." I offer as an introduction to the conversation.
"Yes Zeke." He pointedly looks at me. "He is the leader of the dark earth angels. He's got the same amount of power as me, but he answers to the fallen angels. And before you ask, yes those angels have wings."
"So he wants me because I'm half of both?"
"Yes. Supposedly you are the key to bringing both sides to peace."
Mare snorted at his words. Aedon looked at her in question. "Peace is unattainable Aedon. We are looking for a little slack so we can have our fun."
"Enough Mare!" He yells. His face burrowed in anger at what she said.
What the heck was that about. They were all glancing concerned between each other. They sat at the far end away from me. Seeing as I got here late that makes sense.
"Alexandra has both our blood. She can lead us all. That's the goal. Get the sword and create a throne for Alexandra."
My jaw dropped. What the fuck! I wasn't the only one in shock. Mare and Cam looked like they were about to explode and it was all aimed at Aedon.
"No." It came out barely more than a whisper. I couldn't look Aedon in the eye. My eyes stayed trained on Mare's. Mare finally blew. "What is wrong with you! You didn't have the decency to tell me this was your plan all along!" She looked at the rest of the gang but no one else showed their shock.
"It had to be kept on the down low. And anyways I knew you'd get close to her immediately. You would've spilled the plan before she could even agree to anything!"
"You had no right!" She was standing and screaming at him now. I was glad that she was this angry. I was still frozen in shock otherwise I'd be right up there screaming in his face with her.
"I have ever right. Now sit down Mare we need to make a game plan." The grave look on Aedon's face forced her to sit down. Everyone in the room was still as a board as Aedon turned back and continued on.
