It had been months now, since everyone was knocking on my door with opinions and disgusting questions.

I went home and my mom hugged me for the first time in a while and she told me that I look handsome and that she made a wonderful son. I looked at her and felt the warmth of her touch.

I thought she was not listening this whole time, but I was the one who was not listening. She had heard me in a room full of silence, she heard me.

My mom stops by my door and takes me to a hill top with stones at the very top. She asked me what are these? And I told her they were stones.

She tapped me and said look closely. I bent down and looked at the stones and saw writing carved into it. It was the initials of my dad who passed away when I was born.

She told me that he wanted to take me to the top of the hill and carve initials in the stones together. She said he wanted to do at least this much for me before he went.

I sank down into her arms and I realized that this is what love is. It was the sacrifice and the effort to be there for someone and be with that person even when you are not physically with that person.

My dad loved me and my mom did too. What I thought was love, was nothing but an affair of lies.

This is what life is about, experiencing new moments and learning new lessons everyday.

This is my farewell to my first love, thank you for teaching me what it was like to love someone. may you find someone who loves you and may you find someone to love back.
