Ron POV
My daughter has been in captivity for over two weeks. Poor Hermione hasn't slept in a week, and even if she does sleep, it's because of a sleeping draught. When we were called to that fireplace and we saw how bad Rose looked, I felt the most angry I had ever felt in my LIFE. She looked awful then, and I couldn't imagine how she must have looked now.
Work for me and Harry was trying to find Rose and Scorpius. The world was bombarding Hermione and Draco and I with questions, and the Zodiac (Hogwart's school newspaper) has been bombarding Hugo and Albus. My life was really not going great, and the thought of what Rose must have been going through every second made it worse. Hugo was back home, so that brought a little bit of light into mine and Hermione's lives.
Then, on the eighteenth day, I was at work trying to find Rose when I heard her voice coming from my pocket. I looked around, wondering if I was just imagining things. "Great, now I'm going mad from stress..." I mumbled, but then Rose's voice came again. I reached into my pocket and pulled out the delumitator, and it seemed as if the voice was coming from inside.
I flicked it open, and light came pouring out, as it usually did, but one ball in particular caught my attention.
Rose's voice was coming from it. She was saying, "I want my dad."
Then, I started to cry. She wanted me, I mean, we'd always had a fantastic relationship, but to hear her voice again... it was wonderful.
I ran into Hermione's office, where Harry was comforting her with the help of Ethel. "Listen to this!!!" I said, and they listened to Rose's voice in silence. Hermione looked sadly up at me and mumbled, "Rose was singing when I popped into their fireplace... I hope she still has hope."
"Me too." I said, and I set to work on tracing the deluminator's light source.
