present time

After the perilous evening that she had endured, Eris decided to sleep in for once. A task she hadn't done in nearly one hundred years. The time was noon once she had woken up. The smell of grillades and grits, quite a delightful smell to say the least. She did the routine of brushing her teeth and washing her face before she slipped into a pair of black leather trousers and a cream silk v-neck blouse. The brunette made her way over to the dining room where she found Lucien, a man, and the infamous Camille in front of her.

"Well good morning darling," Lucien had said to his best friend with a mouth full of grits.

Eris smiled at the man's cheekiness, it was almost like it was the boy she'd met a thousand years ago. He looked pure and filled with contentment as he stood up and pulled a chair for her.

"Good morning," Eris said quaintly, unsure of the environment that Lucien had created for Camille and the other man sitting at the table.

"Please help yourself, E, this food is phenomenal. I find that Cajun cuisine is almost as delicious as their people. Well done William," Lucien said breathlessly, making Eris nearly choke on her food.

Regaining her composure, she gave William a bright smile and stated, "I do agree this delicious."

"Not like I had a choice," William replied curtly, with anger evident in his voice. "The moment I do, I'm going to take this knife and stab you in the heart."

Those words caught Eris off guard. Her eyes widened a bit and looked to her friend who gave her a nonchalant shrug. It wasn't her place to intervene in whatever endeavors Lucien partook in.

"You couldn't if you tried. You've been compelled to do everything he says. Its like hypnosis, vampires use it against humans to do there bidding," Camille spoke up.

"Were using the v-word now?" William replied in disbelief. "Great, might as well embrace the insanity. What else are you going to force us to do?"

"Well Camille here consumes vervain so I cannot force her to do anything. But in exchange for preventing future bloodshed, I'd ask that you'd find me that pretty little medallion." Lucien concluded.

"Like I've told you, I've cataloged everything. What you're looking for is not here." Camille said in response, not understanding the importance of Lucien's intentions for the girl.

Lucien bangs the table in frustration and annoyance before commanding, "It's there, just hidden. Built into something else. Find it."

"And then what! Some shiny ornament helps you get your revenge on Klaus. Don't tell that this is all because he stole your girl." Camille attempted to intimidate and get under Lucien's skin.

"He did a lot more than steal my girl, Camille. He's the reason my sister died and he stole one hundred years of my life." Lucien seethed back at her. In the action, Eris reached over and placed her hand in his, giving a squeeze. This was a way she had always reassured Lucien, a way that she'd been using for one thousand years.

"That gives me a thought, loss is a great motivator. Slice open your actuate artery," Lucien then compelled William. He glanced at Eris with a small smile, allowing his sister to know he was okay.

"No," Camille exclaimed as she rushed toward William, whilst he cut him himself.

"That's a nasty wound," Lucien looked at William's leg, "He'll bleed out if not treated. Tik tock Camille," Lucien mocked once more before receiving a call and getting up.

"You're just going to let him do this!" Camille exasperated."

"He won't like blood on his carpets," Eris said putting a bucket under William's leg. "I can help you if you'd like." Eris offered, in attempts to ease Camille's overwhelming anxiety. She quickly nodded in return.
