Early 1000s, Southern France

The day was peculiar. Eris had just gotten back from riding her horse, Phillip, when Kol Mikaleson sat right in front of her shop doors. The brunette boy was picking at his finger nails resting his head against the black lamppost adjacent to the shop.  Eris found it amusing how annoyed the boy looked, he always had a scowl plastered onto his face. Clearing her throat to get his attention, Kol looked up. The scowl he wore diminishing into a a pleasant smile.

"I've been waiting for you for ages and you, you smell awful," Kol stated as his brows furrowed in confusion.

"Ah yes Kol, it's been wonderful too see you too. I'm doing great thank you for asking," the girl replied sarcastically whilst she unlocked the shop doors.

To this, he laughed and  began walking in after her.

"What are you doing here Kol?" Eris asked raising her brows at him, with a seriousness in her tone.

It had been a few weeks since their arrival to the castle and Eris had only had brief interactions with the family of monsters. She could handle her own, so she wasn't necessarily afraid of them, rather cautious.

"I'm so bloody bored Eris, and quite frankly you're the only person here I like. Everyone in that castle is suffocating. It's always who is your father, where do you go hunting, are you courted? Like jesus fucking christ, no one gives a bloody hoot at any of that none sense." He finished his rant.

"Let me change and I will show you everything beautiful about my city Lord Kol," Eris said playfully with a grin.

Eris quickly made her way to the upstairs apartment she'd been living in that was separate from the store she owned. She changed into a tricot one piece swimming suit. It was simple, black with a higher cut to show off her legs. The brown haired girl slipped on a light blue cotton dress and put her essentials into a canvas bag riddled with paint splatters.

"Kol come up here!" Eris exclaimed.

Within a matter of seconds Kol was to her front door but his body jerked back after making it to the frame itself.

"Bloody hell Kol, you're so clumsy," Eris muttered with a laugh helping him up.

She wasn't aware that a side effect of the immortality Kol had was that he could not come inside her home without being invited in. She simply helped him up and guided him inside her home which he seemed to enjoy.

"I love your home," he complimented sitting on a stool in the kitchen island.

"Thank you Mr. Mikaleson, it's not really homey though. I don't know, no matter how much I decorate, it just doesn't feel like home you know."

"Home isn't just a place Eris. It's a feeling. You cannot live in a home if you do not feel at home."

Eris gave him a side eye, amused yet pondering his words completely.

"That made absolutely no sense yet it was understandable. Who are you and what have you done with the Lord Kol?" she mused.

And to this Kol laughed at her playful jokes. Moments passed and the pair began walking out of Eris' quaint shop. The two went into town, paying for berries and baked goods before reaching the stables.

"Have you ever ridden a horse Kol?" Eris questioned stroking Phillip's mane.

"A few times when I was a boy, why?"
