Today was our first Christmas after we were taken from Aunt May Peter was upset,but I've been working hard and can afford to get him something special. I walked through the crowed streets of New York and something caught my eye in the book store window with other new releases. This was a must buy now to get the real gift.
The shop was hard to see,but once found it was impossible to leave. Everything was a bit pricey,but that what all the late hours were for. Mrs.Adams was waiting for me back at the orphanage as a walked in with a boxy bag. "He's in your room. I can get him in my office so you can hide it." She said her red painted lips pulled into a soft smile. "Thank you." I said as I waited under the staircase till she came back stairs with a second set of foot steps behind her the office door closed and I quickly went upstairs to hide the gifts in the ceiling since Peter was in the bunk under me.
*Meanwhile In Headmistress Office*
"So Peter what did you get your sister?" She asked the brunette boy who fumbled with his fingers. "I-i don't know if she'll even like it." He said in a small voice. Thinking of his gift and if he should take it back for something else. "If it came form you Pete I'm sure she'll love it." The older women said smiling as she stood up. It's getting late and tomorrow's Christmas. The eleven year old nodded his head and left the office.
*CHRISTMAS MORNING*
The younger kids not yet in double digits were up first and proceeded to wake everyone else. Coming down stairs their was presents under the tree from the toys for tots foundation that delivered last night. All the little kids grabbed a toy that had their name on them while twelve and up waited patiently. The older teens got gift cards for stores and apps since they didn’t really want any toys and pre-teens got to pick a gift card or whatever leftover toys were in the back. Penny and Peter were the only one's to pick toy since they had no idea what to do with a gift card.
Looking in the delivery boxes they each grabbed a wrapped box at random. "May we go to our room?" They asked in unison reserving a nod as before sprinting up the stairs. They sat in front of eachother on Pete's bunk. "Open yours first." Penny said as she looked at his green box. Slowly ripping the paper his eyes widen peaking her curiosity. "Woah..." Flipping it around she saw two light sabers and her mind began to whirl and his did the same... "We have to make them real!" They shouted in joy as they opened the packaging taking one.
Pushing the button a red plastic saber came out for Penny and blue for Peter. They were about to start quoting Star wars when the unopened present made a sound stopping them. She slowly sat the toy down and peeled off the light blue wrapping paper. The box was small in length then her twins,but was equal in height and width. Another noise came from it as she opened it her eyes sparkling. It was BB-8 a to size model of the droid it was mostly made of plastic and did very little,but there was always room for improvement.
They've been upstairs for a while when they both decided to get their gifts for eachother. Penny handed over two presents and Peter did the same. Hers had one that was relatively the same size as the first thing she got him giving her the idea that they were the same while the second one was a complete mystery. The Male twin was buzzing with excitement as he looked at his sister. They both opened the simple shaped presents and it caused them to laugh it was Bruce Banners book. "Great minds think alike!" The laughter died down as the pulled the ribbons togther. Peter saw a advance lab kit with a microscope,beakers,test tubes,and a bunsen burner. While Penny looked at a tool box opening it it had every sized tool she can think of and....was that a blowtorch and a hand held circular saw?!?
"I LOVE IT!!!" "NO I LOVE IT MORE" "YOU'RE THE BEST SISTER/BROTHER EVER!!!" The said togther hugging and in tears. Penny had a strong love for science and Peter adored engineering don't get me wrong their both great at the two subjects it just if they had to pick a favorite they had their minds set. With their advanced classes they didn't want to waste money on buying their second favorites so Peter got funded for the schools engineering supplies while Penny got the chemistry and lab access it upset them both there had to choose,but these gifts gave them both right at home.
For their first Christmas without Aunt May and it was honestly the best Christmas they've ever had even though it was just them left. The family was small a little dysfunctional,but it was strong and they wouldn't have it anyother way.
