Dear Diary,
It's 7 am. Josh is still asleep. He spent the night with me... I woke up with my head on his chest. That reminds me... I should go see if mom is home. I hope not. If she is, woo boy wish me luck. Wow... Josh looks so cute rn. His abs are... Woah. Ok, Dosia let's stop while we're ahead. Best not turn a diary into the next adaptation of Fifty Shades of Grey. Who knows, I might have my diary read to the whole damn world and studied in English classes for the next hundred years or something.
I put my pen down and set my diary back on my end table. Quietly groaning, I took another look at Josh before sliding myself out of bed. I silently pulled open the bottom drawer of the white dresser that stood in my closet to grab an oversized shirt.
After successfully putting on a shirt, I quietly exited my room. The door to my mother's room was still shut as it was the night previous, but my mother could very well have shut it if she had come home.
The door squeaked when I pushed it open. The bed still sat the way it had been left, and my mother wasn't there. I closed the door and made my way down the hallway.
The TV was still off, and no lights were on. The couch sat empty and no wine bottles were missing. I sighed in relief. She wasn't home.
I went back to my room and took my shirt off, tossing it to the floor. I then slid back into bed and curled up next to Josh. He, still fast asleep, placed his arm along my waist. I laid there until I fell asleep once again, comfy and cozy, just the way I liked it.
When I woke up again, I was met with Josh's nose pressed against mine. His eyes slowly opened, revealing the bright blue colour that I enjoyed so very much.
"Good morning," I whispered, a smile on my face.
"Good morning, Doe," he whispered back.
I pathetically flung my arm behind me and grabbed my phone. The clock told me it was 8:30 am. Josh groaned at me when I told him the time, causing me to laugh. I turned onto my back and sat up. Josh followed my lead, moving so he was next to me on the bed. We both stretched as we stood, yawning comically.
The shirt that had been thrown on the floor was picked up and put back on. Josh, however, opted for staying in his grey sweats.
"It's too early to be wearing a button-up and jeans," he reasoned, shrugging. I hadn't asked, but hey, there has to be a reason for everything.
I laughed, agreeing with him. We then went out to the kitchen to scavenge for food. When our searches turned out fruitless, Josh whipped out his phone, immediately dialling a number.
"Hey bro. I'm at Dosia's- yes I spent the night- Braden- relax-" Josh began when the recipient of the call picked up. I laughed at his flustered reaction to what I'd assume to be Braden going crazy.
"Braden, holy crap, calm down. I was just asking- no! God no! Jesus-"
I gave Josh a confused look.
"No, I don't need a condom. I think if I was in need, I'd be better prepared. I just need to know if you could grab us some food. Doe doesn't have anything. Okay, thanks, see you,"
I let out the laughter I had held in, "He thought you were asking for a condom?"
Josh laughed as he nodded his head. Neither of us questioned him. Braden was known for jumping straight to the extreme.
After calming down, I went to make a glass of water but was stopped.
"Braden's getting drinks too," Josh stated, smiling down at me from his seat on the counter. As if planned, the doorbell rang, telling us that Braden had arrived.
"Alright," Braden began once I had opened the door, "breakfast has been served,"
A jug of milk was given to Josh, along with a bag filled with various items of food. Braden handed me a box of Twinkies and carried two cups of coffee in himself. The three of us went into the kitchen and set everything down.
We found that inside the bag, there was a box of cereal and a carton of various fruits. A small container of scrambled eggs also sat in the bag along with some yogurt cups.
I reached my hand in the bag to grab the last item, my eyebrows furrowing as I tried to think of what could come in a box of that size. My eyes widened as I looked at the item that was now out of the bag. It was a box of condoms. I looked at Josh, my mouth closing tightly to stop myself from laughing.
"Braden, oh my god," Josh started as he took the box from my hands, "I told you I didn't need-"
"Just in case! Wouldn't want the time to come and you be unprepared, right?" Braden laughed, shrugging his shoulders.
"I-" Josh stuttered, unsure of what to say.
"Just sayin'," Braden added, hands in the air.
After all of us had recovered from the condom situation, Braden informed us that he had to leave. Both Josh and I thanked Braden for the food as he left, waving at him through the window as he walked down the street.
When Braden was gone, Josh and I began eating and drinking our coffee. Once we were done, we sat down in the living room and watched some reruns of Spongebob while we waited for Josh's mother to come get him.
At around noon, Josh's phone buzzed. His eyes saddened as he told me that his mom was there to pick him up. I sulked a bit, wishing I didn't have to say goodbye.
Josh quickly put on his clothes from the day before and bid goodbye, waving at me as he walked down the driveway and into the passenger seat of his mom's white minivan.
It wasn't until Josh had left that I remembered I hadn't put any makeup on, and that Braden had seen me. I panicked, realizing that Braden saw the bruise, but stayed calm. If he wished to bring it up, he would, and until Braden brought it up, I wouldn't worry.
I made a glass of milk and sat down in the living room, watching TV for a while.

Dear Diary,
I'm so lonely... Mom isn't even home yet. I wonder where she is. I just hope she's not lying dead in the bathroom at 54 or something. She'll come home soon, though, I'm sure of it. She always comes home eventually. In other news, I'm an idiot. Totally didn't put makeup on and Braden came over with food for Josh and I. He definitely saw the bruise. No way he didn't. I'm kinda scared but like, staying chill. If he doesn't bring it up, I'll assume he isn't worried. Anyway. I'm gonna watch more tv and wait for mom to come home.
