Okay, so this weeks rant is about people who prefers older music to the music of today.
You ever be in your car and is just flipping through the stations and find a song from back in 2005 or something, and as it plays you kinda do this happy freakout because it used to be your fav song or your Jam?
Then as you play it someone in the car has to make a comment about how the sing is old. Like,
"Excuse me. I didn't realize this song has an expiration date"
Who says that old music can't still be awesome? Because they need a replay of all the great songs from back then. I love the way music used to be. There wasn't as much hate or bragging in the older music. It was usually about a message to the listener. Now it's all about how you got that new car or how you got that girl pregnant and won't be there when the baby comes.
I really wonder what the "artists" of today think when writing their music. Don't take this the wrong way, because there are a few good songs out, but most of it is crap. I mean, come on! Who said it was cool to rap about how you bust a cap in that guys ass or how many girls you have in your bed?
What ever happened to the songs about how to get over heartbreak? Or how to celebrate the right way? The late night blues? Where's the family music that won't offend people? The stuff that promotes good behavior and a better life?
So here's a question to those who do prefer newer music.
What makes it so appealing to you?
What does it inspire you to do?
Just wanting to know..
