Everyone had scattered. Some were going on their own, some with allies. Everyone took the stairs, except for two people—Kamiyu Nishimura and Chishiya Shuntaro.
Who would dare to ride an elevator at a time like this? Each and every one of the players knew that riding an elevator could easily be a trap. But of course, these two knew better.
Kamiyu stood in front of the elevator and clicks on the button beside it to open the doors. Chishiya went to grab his walkman from the socket that it was charging on.
When he stood up, Kamiyu was already inside of the elevator. She was smiling at him and waiting for him to come inside. When he did, she pressed the close button and pressed the button with a 7 on it.
"So," Kamiyu started, starting a conversation with him. "What's up with you today?"
Chishiya put his walkman inside the pocket of his hoodie before turning to her with a confused look. Kamiyu mentally scolds herself and tries to stop herself from smiling at the face he made. He looked so cute. "What do you mean?"
"Quit it, Chi." She called him by the nickname she gave him. Kamiyu hit his arm lightly. "You know what I'm talking about."
To tell you the truth, Chishiya knows what she was talking about. He himself knew that she's skeptical of him and his actions today. He knows it's unlike him to accompany her in a game.
They have already talked about this before, Kuina included. The three of them would never dare to participate in the same game. The trio were always trying to avoid any and every worst case scenario. Especially if they wanted Chishiya to successfully execute his plan.
"We have to protect you, Kamiyu-chan." Kuina states, looking at her. She knows that she owes Kamiyu her life, especially after what she did.
Kuina was well aware that it was a bad idea to bring her to the Beach. Even Chishiya said so himself. Kuina was enough of a person to know about his plan. They know that Takeru would only take advantage of her.
Before the duo took her in, she had participated with them plenty of times in a game. She always remembered who they were. How could she not? They were very distinct people. A mysterious guy wearing a hoodie and a girl who's wearing a bikini.
With her wits, it became such an easy task for Takeru to take her her in. He needed people like her, just like Chishiya. Their intelligence will serve him well since there's not much people like them.
It was during her second game when she met Kuina. Kuina didn't want any allies and wasn't planning on having one. Play the game and survive as much as you can, that's what Kuina always thinks of whenever she participates.
What she was surprised of was how much a game changer Kamiyu had become for her. She encountered different people in every game. By now, Kuina thinks she probably encountered each and every nature of a person.
There were selfish people, evil ones, ignorant, slow-witted, name it all. When Kuina saw Kamiyu that night looking so lost and confused, she almost felt remorse for the poor girl. Had she not known she was this ingenious, she wouldn't have doubted her early on.
But as the game progresses, Kuina finally begins to get a clear and complete idea of what type of person Kamiyu is. She was a mind over matter type of person.
Kamiyu did not group with anyone, nor did she try to make allies. But Kuina knew that it didn't matter to her as Kamiyu knows to put her heart in to the game, like anyone should. At least, anyone with an experience. It was a game of life and death, after all.
