The next morning when I felt the sun on my face, I got up and walked over to my desk. I grabbed a letter and envelope. I began writing to Garrison. My grandfather had made it very clear Garrison was not allowed in the palace as long as I was a princess.
There was a simple fix, we could be together just not in public until I was crowned queen.
I spent some time writing and once I was done, I used my magic to send it to him. It was way to risky to deliver it to him in person. Luckily the timing was perfect as there was a knock on my door. I got up to answer it "coming" I yelled.
When I opened the doors, I was greeted by my grandmother, mother and Aunt Evie. "Good morning little Sav" "Morning Aunt E" I said hugging her tightly. "Now we're all here because coronation is two months from today" spoke my mother. I nodded. "And we need to make sure everything is perfect for Auradon's first born queen, now sit down darling" "yes grandmother" I nodded sitting at my vanity.
She began brushing my hair. "Are we keeping the purple highlights?" asked my Aunt. "No" I said snapping my fingers so that it was gold highlights instead. "That's much more fitting for a queen" she smiled. "Now, how are you want to wear your hair?" asked my grandmother. "Half up, half down" I spoke softly.
"Well good for you, that is my signature style" she laughed as she started my hair. "Perfect that narrows it down to these three" spoke my Aunt pulling out the rack. "Where did that-" "magic" teased my mother. I laughed.
As soon as my hair was done, my grandmother placed my tiara on my head. I looked in the mirror and smiled. "Look at my little baby, all grown up" my mother spoke. "Mom" I laughed. "Well it's true, soon you'll be queen and ruling the kingdom and eventually you will know how it feels to be in my spot" "woah slow down" I said putting my hands up. We all laughed.
"Well, she's right but we have more important matters" spoke my Aunt. "The dress?" I smirked. "And that's why you're my favorite" "your favorite what?" I teased. "Oh stop" she laughed.
I looked at the three dresses. They were each different. I moved closer to them and the weirdest thing happened when I touched each individual dress.
The first one was a navy velvet with gold pearls. It was long sleeve and off the shoulder.
"Princess Savannah Rose, do you accept to lead and protect Auradon as long as you reign" asked my father. "I accept" I said boldly. "Then I pronounce you queen of Auradon" he spoke placing the crown on my head. Then doors blasted open to reveal my grandmother. "Another party without an invite, but seeing as it is for my granddaughter, I can forget that. So here you go my dear child" she blasted me before any of us had a chance to react. At first nothing seemed to happen, but then I saw my magic leave me and float towards her. I collapsed to my knees. "What did you do?" my mother yelled rushing to my side. "Payback darling, good luck saving all of Auradon or your precious princess or should I say queen" she snickered before vanishing.
I pulled my hand back. How could I phrase this so they didn't know. "I think the navy especially in velvet is too dark for me." "I think you would be right" my aunt nodded.
I moved onto the pastel purple one. It was tulle and a halter neck. There were beaded flowers all over it. "This looks familiar" I spoke turning to my aunt. "It's very similar to what your mother wore at your father's coronation" she smiled. I nodded. "I do want to try this one on" I spoke grabbing the hanger. She nodded. I walked into the bathroom and placed it on. I got the vision as soon as I tied the bow around my neck.
"Attention citizens of Auradon and the Isle of the lost. Today is an extremely important day in our history. Auradon will soon have it's first born queen reigning" boasted my grandfather. "Thank you Beast for that introduction but I will take it from here" spoke Fairy Godmother. I stepped towards the end of the altar. "Princess Savannah Rose, do you accept to protect and lead Auradon with plans to prosper this nation?" "I accept" "Well it looks like Auradon has it's queen, congratulations" she said tapping the wand on my shoulders before placing the crown on my head. The doors blasted open "Savannah watch out" I turned around and saw Garrison blocking a blast my grandmother. "Garrison" I yelled running to his side. "Savannah" he weakly spoke. "Hey look at me, I'm right here, I can heal you" "don't" "what?" "Savannah, you can't." I looked to my grandmother. "What did you do to him" I growled. "Only something that was meant for you dear. But it seems someone wants to be a knight in shining armor" I blasted her. "You will pay for this" I cried. "Oh darling it's not like you two could ever be, I mean I tried to kill his mother's parents and his grandfather tried to kill your grandfather. I was just making it easier for you" she cackled. I stood up and clenched my fists. The dress shifted from lavender to black. "I banish you to the isle of the doom where you shall never be heard from again" I spoke blasting her. She disappeared and the room went silent. I ran over to Garrison and cried."
"Savannah dear are you alright?" asked my grandmother. I walked out and looked in the mirror. "I feel like I belong on a cupcake" the three of them laughed. My aunt nodded "this also seems like something Madison would wear, speaking of Madison, did Charles ever get the courage to ask her out?" "Wait Charles likes Madison?" I piped up. "Oh no maybe he only told Duke" "Well I can make that happen" I laughed. "Oh perfect my daughter the matchmaker. Can pair everyone else together but herself" teased my mother. We all laughed.
"Well that leaves this one" spoke my mother. It was off the shoulder and long sleeve but in a royal blue tulle with golden sparkle. "It's beautiful" I responded reaching out to touch it. "Let's see it on" spoke my grandmother. I nodded. I held it the whole way to the bathroom but no vision. I slipped the purple one off and slid into the next. It was perfect.
I stepped out and looked in the mirror. "wow it's beautiful" I smiled. "A perfect fit for a queen, now anything you want to change?" she asked. I looked at it and tilted my head. There was no vision with this one so I was taking that as a good sign. "can we had a gold belt?" "like this?" she spoke pulling out a golden belt with two roses and a dragon. She placed it on "it's perfect" I smiled. "That it is little one" she smiled.
"Now Mal and Belle can you leave for a moment?" "Of course Evie" they nodded. She waited for the door to shut. She reached for her purse and pulled out an envelope.
"Garrison gave this to Asher and Asher gave it to Des. Des knew I would be coming here so she gave it to me" she whispered as she handed me an envelope with my name on it. I looked at it and opened it. I smiled as I read it.
"Now, I know you can't be with him as long as you're a princess is what your grandfather said, but-" "as soon as I'm queen I can well publicly" I said smirking. "Oh someone has a plan doesn't she?" she laughed. "My grandfather explicitly said I couldn't be with him as a princess as long as I was in the castle" I responding adjusting the dress. "You're going to meet him anywhere but the castle aren't you?" I looked at her and winked "just don't tell anyone else." "Of course, Savannah, after all you are my favorite and I would like to stay being your favorite out of your aunts and uncles" she giggled. I gave her a big hug. "Thank you" "of course, now go be with your prince, I'll tell him you went to go be with Desyiree" "Thank you again" I squealed.
I snapped my fingers and switched my outfit. The dress was back on the rack. I ran out of the castle as quickly as I could. Only two months until I was queen and I couldn't wait.
