**1 AM in the night**"the noise of crackling firewood "
Evelyn's POV
It turned dusk in no time, the day passed by with us being entertained and occupied in today's bunch of activities that included dry stone walling, canoe trips and slackening. Tyler and Cheryl received prizes for dry stone walling which we were proud of. Then arose the evening that was filled with loud booming music, unlimited food and beverages and non stop dancing. We were going through the same agenda repeatedly till Cloyal dozed off.
At around 12:30 AM Cloyal fell into great slumber since he had consumed excessive drinks while Krystal was also completely off this world. Cheryl, Tyler and myself managed to carry them both and bring them to the camping tents. Krystal seemed too tired and I thought it wasn't a good idea to send her with the unknown Zac.
Cheryl told me that Krystal could sleep with cloyal and her and I can spend time with Tyler since he will be going back soon. I tried convincing her that I could have Krystal at my tent, but she won. Cloyal and Krystal slept on either sides inside the tent. I covered Krystal with a warm blanket while Cheryl was taking care of Cloyal. I kissed them both and came out of the tent."Eve, I think Tyler is waiting for you, you should go" Cheryl held me with both her hands and smiled. "but you are here, why don't you join?" I asked.
"umm, I would love to, unfortunately its exhausting moreover, I'll be in charge of too many duties tomorrow so now its a mandatory nap time for me. Enjoy yourselves and good night love!" she said hugging me tight.
The camping site was accompanied by the lake Derwent waters that glided in silence in the corner of the mountain. The moon's light was directly spilt in to the river that the water looked shiny as ever. I could see it pristinely while I was walking towards my tent.
The tent Tyler and I shared was a yellow one, I opened the front panel but found no one in. I plugged my phone to my power bank, closed the panel and was looking for Tyler, my eyes fell on a portrait of a man who was seated few meters away from the camp enjoying the site of the river.
I strolled in silence feeling blessed that god gifted me such a beautiful moment. I stood behind him, Tyler had his gaze fixated on the smoothly flowing water while his left hand holding a bottle of drink.
"Ahemm" I cleared my throat and said "I think its too much for tonight" smiling at him.
"ohhh hii baby, is everything okay there?" he asked with a soft smile.
"yeah I guess so! Everyone's off to sleep and what are we doing here" I asked.
"okay firstly I don't want this anymore, thank you for entertaining me Mr bottle" Tyler said throwing the bottle to the river.
"splash..."
"you didn't have to do that" I said with a slightly disappointed face.
"Alright, come here" Tyler pulled me closer and made me sit on his lap facing the river.
"I'm sure I'm heavy, so you widen your legs a tad bit" I said so it'll be comfortable for him."I'm sure you aren't, but okay my legs hurt a little" he said holding his knee, his face looked really exhausted as well.
I turned my head so I could see him and asked him if he wants to sleep because he doesn't look fine. He turned my face front and ran his fingers through my hair slowly stroking in backwards.
He then said "I'm relaxing, don't pressure me". I was about to turn again when he firmly held my head straight, I laughed at it.I started massaging his knees that sat either sides of me hoping he would feel better. Tyler was insisting not to but I kept doing it because I'm sure he felt better. We kept silent for about five minutes straight, the environment was completely dark except for the shining moonlight that fell on the river, Tyler kept stroking my hair and I continued massaging his knees.
