Both you and katsuki kept your place in the living room, sitting cross legged at the coffee table. You glanced over at the blonde that would usually flee to his room at his mother's arrival, but this time he didn't budge. You disregarded it in fear that if you said something, it would make getting him to the doctor's more difficult than it was already going to be. The door opened slowly as Mitsuki stepped inside and slipped off her flats and scooted them over to the side.
"Hey kids! Your school called and said Bakugou felt sick so you both got sent home. Wanna tell me about that?" She asked while raising her eyebrow, whilst also placing her work bag onto the counter.
"Did you guys have a test today? I told you guys if you need a mental day I'll give it to you. But, don't go acting sick!" She half scolded as she took a seat across from you and Kat. Bakugou just huffed and side eyed you, obviously not wanting to speak.
"Kat has a really bad cough, and Recovery Girl says it has something to do with his lungs not being able to expand. His bitchass got mad that we got sent home and almost blew up the little old lady." You explained, earning a shove in the shoulder.
"I'm fine you asshole!"
"Katsuki! Stop being a brat. Y/n is just looking out for you." Mitsuki half yelled, "and, I wouldn't put lung problems past you since it runs in our family on both sides. It wouldn't hurt to get a checkup." She finished as she started to walk towards the kitchen, starting to fill her water bottle. "y/n, change out of your uniform and Katsuki get your shoes. We'll leave once you guys are ready." And with that she went to go start the car.
Katsuki was mumbling curses under his breath as he went to put a sweatshirt on, you following him up the stairs. You changed into some black joggers since it was still quite cold out. You flipped through your clothes trying to find a hoodie but then remembered today was laundry day and Mitsuki hadn't had a chance to start. You jogged down the hall to Kat's room and peeked in to ask him to borrow one of his hoodies. He wasn't inside and you could hear his grumbling from the front door. You sighed and just decided it wouldn't kill him if you just took one. So you opened his closet to see it perfectly organized, not an article out of place. You grabbed a grey one without even looking, slipping it over your head. You haven't seen what was on it till you were already walking towards the car. You took your place in the back seat behind the passenger seat, but were greeted by more relentless bitching from the bomb in the front seat.
"Bitch, is that my hoodie?" He said with a snarl, making eye contact with you through the reflection of the side mirrors. You flashed him a cheeky smile and nodded your head, he responded by growling and throwing his head back against the seat. "You're trying to get killed today huh y/n"
"Yeah, basically. And, I kinda like skulls" You laughed dryly as you responded. you pulled at the hoodie slightly to get a better look at the design, the same one printed on most of his shirts.
The car ride was filled with quiet mumbling from Katsuki, and full worded responses from the backseat as Mitsuki asked aimless questions. Maybe she could also sense the strange tension radiating from her son too. Eventually, they all soon pulled into the parking lot by the entrance to the hospital. You and Katsuki hardly got sick or hurt beyond the help of Recovery Girl, so you usually only made trips to the hospital for vaccinations and yearly check ups. You all exited the car and walked through the automatic sliding doors that led to the waiting room. All three of you sanitized your hands and then put on a face mask that was located by the door before you and Katsuki took a seat as his mom went to the front desk to check in for his appointment that the school had set. Once that was done with, Mitsuki returned and sat on your left side, Katsuki being on your right. Bakugou was scrolling aimlessly on his phone, or maybe he was texting someone. Probably Ei or Denki. You too brought your own phone out once you noticed both Bakugou's on each side of you were consumed by their devices. Halfway through stalking your friends' social media accounts, you heard a faint constant tapping, or more of a dull shaking of some sort. You averted your eyes from the screen and glanced over at Mitsuki, she was completely still. Slowly, you turned your head to scan Kat. Sure enough, his leg was bouncing steadily, but somewhat uncontrolled. The rest of his body was completely unphased, his usual scowl still spread across his face. But, his true emotions shown through the tiniest of motions. For a moment you hesitated, comforting wasn't really a comfortable topic within your relationship with Bakugou. But, quietly and subtly, you reached over the armrest that separated you two and placed your hand on his knee, now shaking rapidly. Pushing down slightly to ease the motions, you brought your eyes to lock with his. He glanced down at your hand, normally he would've swatted you away, but he didn't move. Once his red eyes softened just a bit and you sensed the shaking stop, you began to retract your hand. However before you could, Bakugou placed his own hand on top of your own and shook his head in the slightest of manner, as if he didn't want anyone to know he needed this. You kept your hand in its place, both of you returning back to your devices.
