Luckily a new patient Keefe enters because he tried to commit suicide and keefe, though he doesn't want to live, does want sophie and treats her better and doesn't hit her for the slightest inconvience. Sophie learns about former patient jolie who died from secondhand smoke after her boyfriend smoked 15 packs of cigarettes a day. Meanwhile the Black Swan is trying to get Sophie out but the council won't agree.
