They both met on Planet Namek and fought till the end. Goku, being the one who bested Frieza, didn't kill him. He gave him mercy and walked away. Goku told him to change his ways and that he ended up giving his energy to Frieza. Frieza is now thinking of what he should decide on. A new beginning or his old evil ways.
