Dreampunk Stories

Dreampunk is a niche genre of speculative fiction that asks the question "Is this real?" and then follows up with "What does that even mean anyway?" Alice in Wonderland would be the prototypical example, but any anti-authoritarian investigation into the nature of dreams, reality, the self, and the universe might qualify. Examples abound in books, movies, and TV. Keep reading to see what I mean.

On a planet in a far away galaxy of the name Diamond Road, colonies of the island are forced to split, after a war breaks out. When two colonies remain, nukes are sent, and time of life is limited. The colony builds a city to fly above the clouds, and hundreds of years later, energy is scarce, and a small group of teenagers go on amazing adventures to survive, emotionally, and physically.

DreamPunk, contrary to the name, doesn't necessarily have to involve dreams. They can also be visions, drug-induced or otherwise. DreamPunk is surreal sci-fi, often merging with the fantastical.
