As he begins confronting the moments that shaped his life, he discovers that the past is far more complicated than memory allows. This excerpt is from the first five chapters of my debut novel! I'm eager to hear feedback. If you're interested in reading more, ask. After a mysterious hum begins to spread through Binghamton, New York, the town doesn't panic. It changes. People sleep more soundly. Arguments cease before they even start. Grief softens into something more manageable. Strangers hum together in grocery stores, classrooms, and waiting rooms. The city quiets and becomes gentler. Then, memories start to transform. Old tragedies are rewritten into comforting stories. Children learn new histories that never truly happened. A tradition known as the Lantern Parade seems to appear overnight and is accepted as if it has long been established. Mara observes those around her-including herself-gradually abandoning painful truths in favor of peace, belonging, and relief. As the hum spreads deeper into the valley, resisting it feels less like survival and more like cruelty. Because the hum never demands obedience. It simply asks for participation. "The Static" is a literary horror novel exploring memory, grief, emotional exhaustion, and the terrifying solace of forgetting.

A man haunted by trauma begins noticing strange shifts in his reality, always occurring at 3:21 AM. As his identity unravels, his partner, too begins to change. Together, they are pulled into a psychological and metaphysical descent driven by guilt, memory, and shadowy forces that threaten to erase their very selves. The only way out may be through the darkest corners of their pasts - and the mysterious lab that seems to hold the key. 💭 What if your memories weren't yours? What if reality was a trap? Elisa thought she was just a student, chasing grades, proving she was worth something. Until the cracks appeared. A teacher with eyes too sharp. A notebook filled with things she shouldn't know. A friend who disappears like he never existed. And a world that rewrites itself every time she blinks. Something is watching. Waiting. Hunting. She has one choice-keep pretending, or ask the question that will change everything. Because once she does... there's no going back. 🖤 Reality is a lie. And she's about to tear it apart. 🔥 For fans of dark academia, psychological thrillers, and reality-bending mysteries.

This document was never meant to be read. What begins as a classified SCP containment file slowly reveals something far more unsettling: the systems keeping the anomaly contained aren't machines, protocols, or personnel. They're people. As the report fractures-through missing incident logs, erased researchers, and commentary never meant to survive-you begin to understand the truth behind SCP-003: it isn't dormant. It's patient. And it learns from those who observe it. The deeper you read, the more the document adapts. The more it adapts, the clearer your role becomes. You are not an observer. You are part of the containment. By the time you realize what's happening, it's already too late. You stayed long enough. Reader discretion advised. Some stories don't end when you close the file. You were never just reading it. This work is based on the SCP Foundation and is licensed under the Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike 3.0 (CC BY-SA 3.0) license. He can map the cracks in reality, charting the voids where forgotten moments and lost possibilities reside. Driven by a desperate need to restore what's lost, he embarks on a perilous journey to The Great Silence, the source of all cracks. Faced with an impossible choice, Calamus must decide whether to seal the voids and save the city, or surrender to the silence and become a part of the very thing he has spent his life charting. DISCLAIMER - This is not a traditional narrative. The narrative structure tilts toward documentary/archive file-style storytelling but a very informal epistolary. The following are symbolic accounts recording ideas as if they were things-and deeper or vast than that, an eldritch. Three ancient metaphysical entities: Law, Power, and Void are symbolic forces that shaped narrative and existence but primarily, meta. The root forces that sculpt the very idea of meta itself. These entries are intended to enlighten, disrupt perception, and survey what exists outside of conventional storytelling.

The SCP Foundation exists to secure, contain, and protect the anomalies that threaten reality. Most of them scream. Some of them bleed. Others rewrite the laws of the universe in obvious, violent ways. This one doesn't. SCP-005 is a key that opens anything. Not just doors - but boundaries, memories, systems, and ideas that were never meant to be accessed. Through fractured reports, personnel testimonies, civilian exposure, and an unsettling reader-insert perspective, Still Present explores what happens when containment doesn't fail loudly - but quietly, politely, and completely. Nothing explodes. Nothing escapes. And everything stays exactly where it shouldn't. You didn't open the file. You just kept reading. Reader discretion advised. Some things are more unsettling once you realize they were never locked at all. "After everything, you're... one of the few things that actually feels real." In 2030, the sky cracked open. By 2040, Earth belongs to the Biopods. In the present, 2049, humanity has mostly given up, trying to survive through this broken world. They arrived as silent meteorites, egg-shaped monoliths that burrowed into the Earth. At first, humanity thought they were dormant. But they weren't. Each Biopod is a living factory: it devours biological matter-humans, animals, forests-and reconfigures it into cold, sentient machines. The machines they make vary, adapting to terrain, resistance, and resource availability. They don't just kill. They convert. Matthew Riots, gunner from the Frontline, no longer wishing to fight, left the Frontline for Zeta. There he reunited with his sister, living out their quiet lives. But no peace truly exists in a world full of Biopods. Zeta fell, he and his sister completely lost contact. Promising to keep surviving no matter what, Matthew journeyed to the promised land of Athena. The story of Rust And Stardust gives us insights on what little humanity is left in the apocalypse. A story focusing on the theme of family, love and human's connection. In a broken world where survival is a luxury, will our main character finally find peace and happiness again?
