She had no idea what to expect but she knew she wouldn't like what was to come. This facade of lavish furnishing concealing the seedy nature of the establishment. But because of her condition, she was seen as exotic. A rarity. A delicacy to be savored. But this was the better deal than others had been given... she knew that others had it so much worse. Treated like property, livestock even. At least here, she had some level of autonomy, a small semblence of freedom. The room she lived in was a deep red. Gilded and sumptuous. The plush furnishing draped in silks and velvets. The cushions plump and plentiful. She even had a window which she could sit at though the lead was cleverly disguised steel bars as to not detract from the ambience and to keep the reality of the situation out of mind for those who came to visit her. A guilded cage for a rare bird...

You know how sometimes you just connect? Like how a single look into someone's eyes allows you to see into their soul? How sometimes one look is enough to make you realize you are destined for each other? Well I don't. See this isn't some mushy, love-at-first-sight story. Do not get me wrong, I have read more than my fair share of those stories. But life isn't that easy. You can't just see someone and think "Yep, that is the person for me" You can't know who someone is by their smile, you can't take one look into their eyes and see into their soul. It takes time- and a lot of it - to really connect with a person. This is a real love story.

Marcella had always known she had five brothers, but she never wanted something to do with them; they were raised by man who cheated on her mom and broke her heart before deciding that he didn't want anything to do with her, casting her out and divorcing her, leaving her to raise the child she was carrying by herself. It's been 16 years since then, and they were both happier than ever. Her mother had finished her degree and had started up her own Veterinary clinic, which was considered to be the best in the town they called home. Marcie was succeeding in all her classes, had an amazing group of friends, and was as happy as she could be (even if she had an absolute witch of a teacher); that is until her mother mysteriously goes missing. Without warning, or anytime to come to terms on what's happening, she's being forced to move in with the people she's hated her entire life, the people who call themselves her brothers. But as time progresses how can Marcie continue to hate the people who only want the best for her, and care about her possibly even more than her own mother? The more time that passes Marcie finds herself growing closer and closer to them, and even begins to care for them; after all they're not her father, but even they have secrets to keep, and some of them involve the truth on what really happened between her parents. They know, and Marcie wants to find out. No, Marcie will find out.

In our little community right out of town, everyone knew everybody - or at least, we thought we did. When a new neighbor moved in, he leaned on our wire fence with a unsettling eerieness and a story. He became part of our lives in ways we never expected. But behind the easy conversations and borrowed favors was something darker... something we never saw coming. This is the true account of how trust turned to fear, and how one family learned that danger can live right next door. Based on a true story. Names and details have been changed for safety. I'm a new writer and would love to hear any feedback you have as you read.

Waking to the emptiness of a void a new entity opens it's eyes. A voice from the dark calls out to welcome them to existence as the first and sole entity of the universe. They've been given a powerful portion of their creators soul which is now theirs to bend and use to shape existence to their will. What does one create when they have complete control and power? And what motives would a god have to create a world in which we humans roam? Waking to the familiarity of his family home ceiling, Gale tries to find his way in a world full of a mysterious magic referred to as Sol. The book is planned to tell the tale of the bare beginnings of a god and that of a boy living amongst a fantasy world created to be full of monsters and drama along the way.
