The five of them have been best friends since their first year at Ilvermorney and they're all excited to start their fifth year together. That is, until the suicide of Ophelia's roommate, the shy and awkward Calla Huntley, who is found with her wrists slit in the gardens by the school. Or at least everyone thinks it's a suicide, until Matt Tindall, the Head Boy, is found with his throat slit. One by one, students begin dying, and it soon becomes very clear that it's not suicide, but sacrifice, that claims their lives. Can the students and teachers figure out who the sacrifices are for before it's too late to stop them? Can they save the students and the school- before they're the next name on the list of the dead?
