By night, she becomes Holly, dancing at a small strip club to pay her way through school. By day, she's a college student learning who she is and where she's going. What begins as a way to survive becomes something deeper. Inside the club, Emily discovers that most people aren't chasing fantasy. They're chasing conversation. Comfort. A place where someone remembers their name and listens without judgment. Between awkward song requests, wobbling heels, dressing-room wisdom, and late-night talks, she learns lessons no classroom could teach-about loneliness, resilience, boundaries, and when it's time to walk away. Ten years on from the original book, catch up with that British couple who moved to a big old house in the countryside of South Bohemia. We are not expats, we are British immigrants, trying our best to make sense of the society that is kind enough to host us. What's changed? Our English has got worse as our Czech improves. Our animal entourage has grown considerably and now we have a selection of wild and crazy Czech friends to keep us entertained. Settled, but Brexit looming, will we be able to keep home and hearth together? Or will we be forced to move on? Bohemian Antiks Continue is a gentle tale of rural life and animal adventures in a beautiful land not so far away from home.

Sometimes I meet different life lessons on my way. That connection is Surreal ! & This is a collection of vignettes based on those. I hope you will enjoy and learn meeting my real life story characters, as much as I do. Happy quick reading :)

Collection of poems which are largely the result of me trying to get my brain out of my skull. Semi autobiographical in nature. The Dracula-Baby's is a girl born in Transylvania, Romania, and her name is Ileana. A loved and pampered Daddy's girl-with a Masters' Degree in architecture- facing socio-political conflicts in her native communist Romania, Ileana chooses to leave everything behind and build a new life for herself in the New World. Written in the first person POV, sprinkled with humorously flavored bits and at times self-deprecating, the stories encompass her entire life -to date- starting in 1958 when she was three year old. Short, bitter-sweet chronological autobiographical stories, follow the main character from the whimsy of old Transylvanian life- with it's flavor of magic realism- to the world of adventurous and unlimited possibilities opened to her by the choices she made.Without any support system, legal papers or money, she is confronted with life-threatening circumstances. She not only survived the vici ssitudes, but she fulfilled her dreams and hopes through hard work, endurance, and tenacity. Although she is an accomplished woman architect, the autobiography is mostly about memorable moments of her personal and professional life, her soul and values and less about the work achievements. It is story of raw guts, courage and survival, but also of love of life, confidence, success and strength of character. The book is intended to be inspirational and motivate people in pursuit of their dreams. It will change the way you think about your own life and destiny. Waking up in a hospital bed after losing consciousness, a 13 year old teen starts having dreams about the life of an older man. Note: this story is planned to span over 40 years of the protagonist's life and as the story is written in first person the sensation from reading it might vary the further you read, especially as he transitions into adulthood.
