There is nothing left of me to protect. Dying by his hand would be less painful than this miserable life. She convinced herself of this as she relaxed her tense muscles. The sound of cracking echoed in the bathroom. For a brief second she thought the sound oriented from her broken bones. She was expecting to feel some kind of pain to echo through her body, to feel her organs as they turn into mush with each punch, to feel the disgusting taste of blood in her mouth... ... yet she felt nothing. Like millions of red flowers blooming, the droplets of blood fell to the floor and created a path, a map on the broken mirror as it flew its way down. She looked up in horror into his eye. His expression remained unchanged, as though he didn't know what pain would feel like. a short Poem I wrote about the stigma of mental health and what society expects of us

The only thing more exhausting then having a mental illness and pretending that you don't. Jess Williams is a sixteen year old girl with a secret. She has something eating away inside of her that nobody knows about. Day in a life of a teen with Generalized Anxiety Disorder and Panic Disorder.

It's hard to live with yourself when you hate your own reflection. Alyssa was always the fat girl and after a series of unfortunate and uncomfortable events, she vows that she will be no more. But you can't stay fat if you don't eat, right?

OCD, it's like your brain is persistently fighting over it being rational or irrational--but with only one winner.

What has pushed you to believe taking your life is the answer? Are you really going to do it? What happens when death isn't as peaceful as you expected? What if a Reaper gives you something of an ultimatum? Witness first-hand what your death has brought to those around you, or remain wandering as a lost soul until you reach the point of insanity. It's almost been one year. On August 30th Charlie Summers world was turned upside. Mason Reed and her were the bestest of friends, no body could separate them, they were attached at the hip. A glimpse into the minds of those who suffer from trauma, anxiety and seclusion. It is very important to me that awareness about mental health is spread, thus the reason for this short story. A battle against all the negative aspects of your mind is sometimes the most difficult battle to overcome, and not many people are aware of that. I hope this story sheds some light on what trauma, anxiety that can lead to depression can do to people, and at the end, how to move past the worst.

A vast compilation of personal thoughts and experiences with the hopes to put a little sunshine in someone's darkest days including my own; to allow you to acknowledge your strong points, your weaknesses, your creativity, who you really are as a person and to give you the confidence to give your peers a more self-assured answer to who you pride yourself in being. YOU ARE is a series of short books aimed to help lift the stigma of mental illness through expression and creativity. Mental illness does not have a face, it is an invisible illness that can be so taxing even physically; being an artist myself, I find great relief of anxiety through the practice of art and writing and would absolutely love to know what works for other people!
