The old Victorian mansion stood on the outskirts of town, its eerie silhouette shrouded in darkness.

Just a simple haiku, sometimes it is not just the emotions which outpours through words or the tears that flow from the eyes that tells of the inner sadness. Sometimes it's that vacant, masked expression of the eyes which conveys a lot more than spoken words. It's not always about seeing or hearing something to feel a person's hidden sorrows, rather it's about feeling the unexpressed feelings.

A wetland excavation uncovers a grotesque, tangled mass of impossible bones, awakening something ancient beneath the mud. As the ground begins to pulse and a towering composite creature briefly rises from the pit, the workers flee-leaving behind a seemingly calm marsh that still, unmistakably, breathes.

A cursed braid that continues to grow from a dead woman's skull ensnares the living, feeding on fear and dragging its victims into the darkness it once served.

A prehistoric burial bog awakens when ancient, brain-preserved skeletons begin to stir beneath the water, revealing that the dead were never meant to be uncovered-or released.

Ezra lives on the other edge of the forest, in a strange, dark, society. Tahlia lives in a small village, just across the forest. Ezra can't remember life before The Infection spread. Tahlia remembers it so vividly, that she still wakes up with nightmares. Ezra is an anti-social, killing machine. A perfect soldier. Tahlia is an adventurous, curious, girl who lives with parent's who can't understand her. They do have one thing in common though. They're trying to survive. Follow Ezra and Tahlia as they fight for survival in a world full of brain-eating savages, and what happens when they meet each other in the forest? Ezra, collecting brains. Tahlia, fetching the water. They've never even met anyone outside their own colonies. Tahlia's never loved another boy before. Ezra's never loved another girl. Ezra hardly even knows what love is.
