On the world of Altrensis Major, an expedition of the Adeptus Mechanicus comes under attack from the most fearsome foe imaginable: the voracious Tyranids of Hive Fleet Leviathan. Already embattled by the planet's resident Ork Warband, and on hostile terms with the nearby monastery of Adepta Sororitas, the Techpriests will have to make impossible decisions and risky alliances if they want any chance of survival against the Great Devourer. Troubled by the past, disturbed by the present and fearful of the future she treads a treacherous path between the light and the dark to find her place in an uncaring galaxy.
