The story begins with Adam Moyo, the efficient but emotionally distant CEO of Moyo Holdings, being asked by his father's long-time business associate, Mr. Tavengwa, to mentor his daughter, Evelyn. Adam is initially cold and resentful toward Eve, finding her "annoyingly attractive" and a reminder of a painful past.
A turning point occurs on Eve's first day when she discovers an intruder in Adam's office and is knocked unconscious. While she recovers, she is taken to stay at Adam's home, where she begins to see the "human" side of her boss, discovering he is a "neat freak" who prefers solitude.
As the story progresses, the narrative shifts from a workplace drama into a complex web of corporate sabotage, family vendettas, and romantic tension.
The story explores themes of forgiveness, corporate rivalry, and the search for authentic love amidst family expectations. Despite the violence and betrayals-including an assassination attempt on Adam-the story concludes on a note of reconciliation.
In the epilogue and final chapters, the historical conflicts between the Moyo and Tavengwa families are addressed. Adam and Eve eventually overcome their rocky start and personal baggage, leading to their Roora (traditional wedding) day and official union as a couple.
