Harry Styles and Elaine Michaels became friends when Elaine and her family moved to England, specifically to Cheshire. They were well acquainted with Harry and his family.

When Elaine, Anne, and Gemma encouraged Harry to audition for X Factor, he jokingly promised to never forget her when he became famous, thinking he wouldn't make it big.
