"I don't want to argue with you, Z." Karim gritted out.

"Stop calling me that, Karim." Zaira growled.

"Do not refer to me by my name. You'll refer to me with my title. We aren't even friends to begin with."

Zaira glared and Karim glared back with the same intensity.

"Give him to me willingly and I won't send this any further, Z. I'll even give you the chance to see him. I'm being generous even for you. So just take my offer." Karim said calmly.

"You've got to be crazy. Why on Earth would I give him to you? What do you even want him for?" Zaira said angrily.

Karim exhaled.

"I see. My lawyers will be in touch with you soon. They'll try to settle this privately with you. But if you still decide to be stubborn then we will meet in court in the coming weeks. I won't be so generous then." Karim turned away without waiting for her to speak and walked out of the house.

He shuffled through the snow which got into his shoes. He hated snow. The car door to the back was already opened for him to enter.

"Let's go. And get my chief attorney on the line." Karim told Ali.

"Yes Sir."

He closed his eyes and inhaled deeply before exhaling. And with the escape of breath from his lungs came a lone tear from his eye. For the first time in a while, he allowed the tear to drop.
