Owen Cleary is a new student who's family is newly stationed in Texas. Moving to a new place, he has become accustomed to dealing with new situations at any abrupt time in his life. Until he meets Demetrius Bourbon, the one that disrupts that flow in a way no one has before. When he finds out his secret, it changes everything for him.

Owen becoming willing to protect Demetrius' identity by being the one to offer his blood up to him. Willing to fill in the spot others had filled, and risk his life so that he doesn't get caught.

With time, Demetrius can't stand hurting someone he's come to love. Especially when it becomes clear that his Owen reminds him of someone he cherished dearly.
