"Look at the city girl running off again. Almost couldn't recognize you!" He announced as I began to walk away

I just stopped and turned in my tracks to face him.

"Tyler Owens, if you weren't an asshole still I'm more than sure I wouldn't be able to recognize you." I rebutted sarcastically with a smile matching my slick comment

Tyler just chuckled lowly before saying tonelessly, "That's funny considering you were almost Mrs. Owens..."

"What are you talking about?" I replied

"Y'know, the day you ran off after the biggest chase of my life? I was going to ask you to marry me." He said leaving me stumped

"I wrote you everyday for two years after calling didn't work. That'd tell most women a lot." He replied
