In 2011 Cassidy Taylor was forced to flee earth with the mother she never knew when the Kree came for her. Three years later she's working for the Nova Corps on Xandar with her mother when her mother is killed in an attack by Ronan's soldiers.

And Cass wants revenge.

When she helps to arrest Gamora and Peter Quill on Xandar, she makes an impulsive decision for revenge and winds up helping Gamora, Quill, and a rag tag group of misfits escape the Kyln. Now she has to survive Ravagers, Quill's terrible jokes, and her own confusing feelings for Star Lord himself to finally get back at Ronan and the Kree for taking everything from her.
