When they meet in a smoky nightclub on the planet Shangxia, events are set in motion that will ultimately decide the fate of the Cosmos. Guided by the mysterious talking black cat, Apollo, they embark aboard the starship Amrita, crewed by an eclectic group of the galaxy's misfits. As they travel from world to world, they come to understand the looming nightmare that threatens a complacent Cosmos, and their role in facing it, as threads of past, present, and future weave together.
