To be a prominent black man in this time is highly unheard of. Freddy Davis comes from a family who has sharecropping for generations and Freddy wanted to break that mold no matter what. He has went through many trials in life including abuse as a child, drugs, catastrophe, etc. Will he be able to pull through, or will he succumb to what he fought so hard to achieve?
