We sat in the kitchen and Marcy pulled out blueprints of the Belmont Mansion. “I’m going to use these to make a map of the house for each of us.”

Emily sat next to her and looked at the blue prints. “Where’d you get those?”

          Marcy smiled devilishly, “City Hall.”

I was surprised, “They actually gave them to you?”

Marcy frowned, “These are only a copy.”

“Marcy, you’re starting to scare me.”

She laughed. “What about my date? We’re going next week Friday.”

Marcy poked her, “Is you mom even going to let you go on a date?”

Emily paused, “Well, no, but if I say I’m going to the movies with you guys she’ll never know.”

Marcy shook her head. “We have to be completely prepared for anything in the place. I’ve already made a list of the things we’ll need. Lux I need you to bring your walkie talkies, some snacks, water, flat head screw driver, philips head screw driver, a drill, a lighter, and your own blanket. Emily you need to bring water, some snacks, a whistle, that camera that can record high quality videos, a blanket, a first aid kit, scissors, and some yarn. I’ll be bringing three flashlights, lot’s of batteries, water, snacks, some games in case we get bored, a blanket, maps, hammer, nails, a big tent, and pepper spray. Have any questions?”

“Why do I have to bring a whistle?”

Marcy laughed a little, “Because you can’t whistle with your mouth.” Emily huffed.

         “Have any questions Lux?”

I thought for a moment and realized she named things she knew I had, “What’s with the tools.”

She chuckled, “In case there’s a jam when we try and get out. We might have to remove a door or window.” Coming from Marcy that made perfect sense.

“So now can we talk about my date?” Marcy and I nodded in unison. “I still can’t believe he asked me out. I’m so happy.”

I hate that boy so much it doesn’t even make sense. “So what are the basic plans for your date?” I don’t get why she likes him. It’s weird considering that he was one of the people picking on her in the beginning of the school year.

“We’re just going to see a movie and going to walk around and talk.” Marcy and I nodded understandingly.

“I don’t get it, what’s so special about him? Why do you like him so much in the first place?”

Emily slouched in her chair, “Basically everything! I like him because he’s cute, funny, cool, popular, hot, and just about everything else.”

Marcy tapped me, “Everything except smart, and don’t you think he might be trying to get you to like him because then he could have you do anything he wants? He already has most of the cheerleaders, or cheer losers doing his homework, and projects.”

Emily rolled her eyes, “He isn’t like that, and you’ve never even talked to him before.”

I looked at Marcy, “Tell her.” She knew what I was talking about so she took a deep breath. “I’m going to tell you just about everything I know about that boy.” Marcy sat straight up, and cleared her throat. “Anyone that likes him always ends up doing everything he tells them. I personally would never fall for that idiot because unlike most cliché little girls, I don't want a guy that's popular; it only makes them self centered and I can see it in their eyes. Anyway, all the girls like him, and all he's doing is using them. He makes it seem as if he’s interested, cuts them off from their friends, and uses them until they are all shriveled up. You may not think so now, but trust me in the end it always ends the same way.”
