Marcy Fray
I was sitting next to this boy with the cutest face ever! His hair was black, and he had brown eyes. By how tall he sat, I guessed he was at least a half foot taller than me. He was thin but in shape. He caught me staring and smiled at me. Akira nudged me and wagged her eyebrows. I turned back to the boy, “So what’s your name?”
He smiled showing off his pearly white smile and sharp fangs! “Max. How are you little witch?”
I smiled at him, “Fine, and you?” Boy, am I glad Lux corrects me on my grammar, I do not wanna sound illiterate.
“I’m starving! Trinity is a really good cook though.” He shoveled another forkful of food in his mouth.
The boy across the table gagged, “Must you act like an animal at the table as well?”
Max spoke with a full mouth, “Why are you even at the table, do you even eat?”
The woman sitting beside Max patted his back, “Max, be polite.”
“Yes mother.” He replied.
I looked back at the pale blonde boy across the table, “So what’s your name?” I noticed the boy had pink irises. He was kind of baby faced, but looked mature too.
He smiled devilishly, “Niko, Niko Azure.” I smiled back, and Max huffed. After dinner, Trinity said it was find if we wanted to explore the mansion. Akira, Nari, and Eva set off in one direction, Lux and Emily took off in another, leaving me with Max, Niko, and a lot of other people. Max pulled me over to the woman he was talking to.
“Marcy this is my mother Becca.” The first thing I noticed was her eyes. They were pitch black and I couldn’t help but ask about them. Max took me aside and explained, “Well those were the eyes of a werewolf ready to shift.”
I gasped and hopped three feet away. “That means!” I started to mindlessly babble about how dangerous werewolves are and how much damage they can cause. I finally noticed Max looking at the ground in shame. “Max?” He slowly looked up at me with deep sad brown eyes. I tackled him, and gained everyone’s attention as I shouted, “Werewolves are so freaking cool!”
We laughed for a time. “Do you really think werewolves are cool?”
I nodded vigorously, “I’ve always wanted to meet one! Hey can you do something for me, please?” He raised a brow. I did my best to look as angelic as possible, “Would you show me your wolf form?” He smiled really big before leading me into the hall. He put a finger to his lips, and then ran down the hall and jumped into the air, landing as a large black wolf. I began to back away into the dining hall again, tears streaming down my face.
Trinity noticed and came to me, “Is something the matter Marcy?”
Becca trotted over as well, “Where’s Max.” He approached in his wolf form. Becca looked at my face, and was about to scold Max, but I launched myself like a rocket to him and clung to his fur.
“This is like my dream come true! I’m so happy!” I began to genuinely cry with joy.
Max kneeled and allowed me to get on his back; I leaned forward and held on tight as he raced down the halls. I saw Lux and Emily in the distance, when Emily saw us she screamed. Max stopped in front of them.
Lux was in shock, Emily hiding behind her. “Guys meet Max, my new werewolf friend!”
Max shifted back to normal and I made a note to ask him about the clothes. “H-hi.” Lux stuttered. Max waved.
“P-please d-don’t d-d-do t-hat a-again!” Emily was crying.
I told Max not to worry about that and that she’d been doing that a lot lately. He changed beck and we were off again, as he was running I said, “You are the coolest person ever!”
He took me to a balcony and let me down before changing back. “Well, you’re a witch and you can do anything.”
I rolled my eyes, but I don’t know how to do anything, yet.”
He laughed, “Don’t worry you’ll learn.” Max is a really kind person, he’s genuinely sweet. “Let’s head back.”
Max stopped in front of the dining hall door and phased back to normal. As we entered, he grabbed my hand. Normally if a boy did that I’d snatch away and punch them, but I could tell I was going to enjoy my time here. “Someone’s blushing!” Lux began to laugh at me, but I couldn’t be mad at her. Becca called Max to her, they were leaving.
I frowned, “I don’t want you to leave.”
He smiled, “Don’t worry; we’ll be back tomorrow anyway.” I smiled neatly as they and the rest of the guests departed.
Trinity snapped her fingers and Akira, Eva, and Nari appeared looking confused. She handed each of us a box. We opened them and found one wand for each of us, completely different from one another’s. Mine was royal blue and gold with my name encrusted on it. It was shaped like a marker which I found hilarious. Akira’s was orange, green, and red, with her name on it, and it was weird because it looked like it could be molded in different ways but was solid. I noticed that everyone had their name on their wands. Nari’s was rainbow colored and fit her perfectly, and looked like a toy. Emily’s was a green slime color, with purple bands scaling it, and looked like a magicians. Eva’s was midnight blue, and white, and shaped like a large sewing needle. Lux’s was awesome though. Her wand was black, white and grey. It was shaped like a paint brush. “Your wands are very important, they are the key to your power and control over spells keep them with you at all times. We’ll begin to learn spells and potions in the morning, but tell me how long you wish to stay, remember time is frozen on Earth.”
I thought and thought, “Well I want to stay for a month!” The others stared at me blankly. “What? Sorry if I want four months of summer vacation.” Soon everyone was agreeing with me on staying for a month. Emily seemed to have warmed up to Trinity and was speaking to her without hesitation.
“Come with me and I’ll show you to your rooms.” Our rooms were all in one hall. They looked virtually the same; Trinity said the closets and drawers were full of clothes that would fit us. We said good night to each other and were off to bed. I heard Emily ask Lux if she could sleep in her room. Lux agreed and I rolled my eyes, what a fraidy cat.
I set my backpack in a corner and went to bed. When I woke up the next morning I found out, I had a bathroom in my closet. I took a shower, and looked through the clothes in the closet. I found the perfect outfit. Midnight blue dress and big midnight blue leather boots.
