"In this world nothing is considered anything but ordinary. Fiction is fake, and non-fiction is fact, but this is opposite in another world. Fiction is fact, and non-fiction fake. In another world, nothing is ordinary, all is different. Earth, is the home planet, where the guinea pigs known as humans live. Orion is where the strange and unusual live. Orion is parallel to Earth in every way. They reflect against each other, like a mirror. The elders hid their planet, so they could live in peace as they've always wanted. Only, there is one fatal flaw. There are passages to Earth, but they're mirrored, meaning it's a two way trip. It’s impossible for humans to enter. They can't because the portals are guarded by witches! Like the one that lives in the Belmont Mansion." Everyone in the class stared at Marcy as if she had the word insane engraved on her forehead.
Her report made our teacher snap, "Marcy! How dare you tell such things! Go to the office immediately!"
I watched my friend trudge out of the classroom. Define Marcy; she is commonly called weird, strange, crazy, insane, and a freak. She doesn't care though, as if she would. "I really think she should stop, I mean it’s not cool and like that stuff could be true. It's fairy tale. Like, could you ever believe that, Lux?"
I looked at Emily, my other friend. She's the exact opposite of Marcy. Emily likes to try to fit in, try to be popular, and follow trends, preppy girly girl stuff, it doesn't work. Marcy on the other hand, would do anything not to fit in, be as odd as possible, and dress like a boy, your basic weird friend. Marcy and I don't have much in common either, so I won't judge. I believe Marcy for many reasons. First of all, it’s better than listening to Emily when she complains about her problems. “I don’t think so, it’d mean she’d have to change who she is.” Emily rolled her eyes.
“Now class, let’s continue.” Our teacher interjected.
Marcy got a phone call home, and as usual, her parents really didn’t care. They didn’t see what she did wrong, neither did I. After school, we went to my house to do homework. On the way, Marcy continued to tell us about Orion and the things that live there. I noticed Emily rolled her eyes. I shook my head. At my house, we settled in my room and pulled out all the homework that was due the next day. “I finished all of my homework.” I rolled my eyes at Marcy.
“I’m half-way done.” Emily smiled at her accomplishment.
“Well, you both know I haven’t even started!”
They started laughing, “But you’re going to finish it anyway.”
I nodded, “True, but it’s so boring!”
Marcy patted me on my back, “Just get it over with so I can tell you more.”
Emily sighed loudly, and Marcy’s eyes shot to her like darts. “Why do you keep doing that?”
Emily looked scared. Marcy said it in a creepy deranged type of way. “What are you talking about?”
She tried to play it off, but her face was a dead giveaway. “Every time I say something about Orion or creatures, you huff and puff, roll your eyes, and everything else. I hear you whispering about it to other people too!” I sat back and watched the show.
Emily was speechless, “I mean it’s just that you’re embarrassing yourself, and people are talking about you. I don’t think you should do it anymore. It’s weird and nobody is going to wanna hang out with you.”
