PLAYING YOU (#2)

CHAPTER TWENTY

Alya felt puzzled of the entire area until she felt a tap on her shoulder, turning around she froze as she came face to face with one of her worst nightmares. 

"Long time no see Alya" Zeke smirked at a dumbstruck Alya.

"Zeke" Alya spoke with unsurity in her voice.

"Yes. It's me in pure flesh and blood. Not happy to see me?" Zeke folded his hands infront of him eyeing Alya with pure mischief in his eyes. He had been imagining this scenario in his eyes since a very long time. To watch her dreadfully standing infront of gave his soul some peace.

"What are you doing here?" Alya came straight to the point.

"Planning our wedding baby. Remember a June wedding." Zeke imitated Alya from the past.

"Stop joking Zeke. I am pretty damn serious right now. You can't be here. Look whatever happened to you and your company is long gone. Now i am happy and have moved on in my life. So there is no space for you. It's better if you don't break your heart and just go away." Alya replied straight to his face looking right through his sould. She had Nandini as one of the problems in her life and that was enough, having Zeke here would just bring more trouble.

"Oh really baby. You moved on without me. That's sad." Zeke laughed.

"Zeke" Alya raised her voice.

"Keep your voice down Alya. You are in no terms to high up your chords. Whatever you have done , you think i am just going to get away like that. Leave you happy. Ahan bitch that ai't happening." Zeke grabbed her arms while Alya resisted.

 "Look at me alya. Look what you have made me now. I am not that easy and dumb Zeke anymore that you'll just runaway from after ruining his life. Not this time." he roared.

"So what are you going to do. Tell me. Fuck my life." Alya pushed him back.

"I don't have to do anything Alya. Whatever i wanted to do, it's already done." Zeke smirked.

"What do you mean?" Alya asked.

"Strain your mind a little bit Alya. You might remember it." he gave a hint.

Alya tried remembering something and then it hit her like a huge truck.

"Youu. You tipped those paps behind me and Manik." Alya shouted at him.

"That was good right. I thought i might do a bit more but then i thought that this is enough for a starter."  Zeke hopped on the car's bonnet.

"Shut up Zeke. How could you? You know what i am going to call Manik straight away and tell him that you did all of that. Then you see how good he takes care of you." Alya threatened him while she grabbed her phone to dial Manik.

"Okay. Go on." Zeke replied casually.

"What?" Alya looked at him with a straight face.

"I mean then your pretty ass boyfriend will ask me who am i. I'll have to answer the truth then." Zeke shrugged draining the life out of Alya.

"Zeke don't" Alya warned him.

"Watch me." Zeke hopped down and started walking away when Alya shouted silencing the entire parking space.

"I am pregnant"

Zeke turned around with a piercing gaze. He didn't trust her anymore.

"It's true. Me and Manik are having a baby. Please don't ruin it for us." Alya begged him but Zeke was too shocked to react so instead he chose to walk away.

Nandini regained her consciousness and found her entire family beside her. Her father sat holding her hand waiting for his daughter to wake up and brighten his day.

"Dad" Nandini voiced out whatever she could muster up as her body pained as hell.

"Shhh my little angel. It's okay." Nandini's father stroked her hair.

"It hurts." Nandini smiled weakly.

"I know but you are my strong girl." her father smiled back.

"you are going to be fine Nandini." Neyonika helped Nandini to drink some water.

"Thank you." Nandini smiled at her.

The nurse walked in with some medicines and food. And asked the others to leave.

"She is right. You all should go home. It was a tiring day. i"ll be right here with Nandini." Manik told everyone. 

A few of them resisted but at last went away leaving the odd couple alone.

"I'll help her with the food." Manik told the nurse while she nodded and left.

He helped nandini to sit straight since her body was tired and still a little sore. He made her have the soup while all she did was watch him intently trying to understand why this man was such a mystery to her. It was as if she was in an episode of Sherlock Holmes and it was becoming impossible to solve this case.

At various occasions Manik smiled at her while others he made sure that no mess was created. Soon he got a call from his executive so he left to attend it out.

Nandini tried lying down but it was too difficult for her to mover her body when a pair of hands helped her out. Looking up she saw a a male nurse trying to help her out.

"Thank you" Nandini smiled at him.

"I told you to always be by your side. How could i have let you be alone." The guy smiled behind his mask.

"Zeke" Nandini smiled.

"Yes baby girl. How are you now?" He asked.

"In pain." Nandini gave a sad smile.

"Well you didn't have to bang your car to a truck in order to stop Manik. I took care of Joe. He is way away from where he came. Now everything will be fine. You just have to lie down and watch the game unfold." Zeke assured her while he covered her with a blanket.

"I am never worried cause i have you." Nandini laughed but Zeke was serious.

"I have to tell you something." Zeke said with a straight face. 

"Yes?" Nandini raised her brows.

"Alya is -" before he could say anything Manik walked in.

"Oh hello. I am so sorry i got a call." Manik came ahead and sat beside Nandini.

"Yes sir i was just in for a regular round. If you need something just call any of the nurses." Zeke acted like a ward boy and went out.

"I am sorry Nandini. I got some work." Manik apologised Nandini for leaving her alone.

"It's okay. If you have any important work. you can go i am good here." Nandini gave him a warm smile.

"Not in a million lives. I am not leaving you alone anymore." Manik smiled at her "Anything you want?" he asked her.

"Yes. I wanna go home." Nandini spoke like a kid.

"Okay we'll go home soon. I promise." Manik hugged her.

" I know Nandini this is not the life that you wanted. Maybe even the accident that you got into was my fault but no fuck ups anymore. As soon as you get back home and all fine. I am going to tell you the truth. Because i now have realised that anything can happen in life now. " Manik though to himself.

"I hope the papers are made. I want them to be delivered to me as soon as possible. Okay see you soon." Alya spoke to a lawyer on the phone because it was now or never for her.
