PLAYING YOU (#2)

CHAPTER TWENTY SEVEN

"No Mukti he didn't. Your brother is a jerk who deserved all of this. He-" Nandini spoke in anger when Mr. Malhotra spun her in anger but before he could say or do anything Manik stepped forward but Zeke came in middle.

"Don't you dare." Zeke threatened the family. " Touch her and your pride goes down too cause she ain't alone."

"Excuse me. You can't talk to my father like that." Mukti threatened.

"And your father can't cross his limits with my best friend. It's by her grace that i haven't destroyed you people after what your brother did to her. If it was upto me i would have killed him by now." Zeke warned. He wasn't less and Nandini was somebody he had taken upon himself to protect.

"Enough both of you." Mr. Malhotra shouted, "You tell me Nandini everything. I have always looked at you like my own daughter and i want to know what made you drawn so much to my family's destruction." he asked Nandini.

"The love of my family and the betrayal of your son and i think it's better if you ask him that before i say anything." Nandini replied.

Mr Malhotra looked at Manik asking for an answer, waiting for that one negative nod from his son because he was sure that it was all a big misunderstanding between the couple. His son was a great human but Manik held his head down. he knew he was at fault and guilty in this scenario. He was dreading this moment and it was finally here where his cards would be out and Nandini will make a decision.

"I want to hear it from you." Mr. malhotra asked Nandini after no response from his son.

"Your son wanted my dad's company. He wanted to snatch away his hard earned work by playing with my feelings, by playing with all of us. This entire wedding was a joke to him. Wasn't it Manik?" Spoke Nandini in sarcasm as she walked upto him with her arms crossed daring him to oppose her accusations.

"I was happy uncle. I was happy that i was finally allowed to come back to India, a place my mom grew up in. My parents got married at and then Dad came to me with your proposal. I was going to walk into the same phase of life that brought my parents closer. A marriage. I was a sucker for love let me tell you that." nandini laughed with hurt evident, "I wanted love too, to live that exact same fairytale that i grew up listening to. Manik was an ideal guy, surely you raised him well or so i thought. I liked him but i wanted him to feel the same way so i asked him over and over again if he was okay with it. He loved Alya."  she continued as she turned back to Mr. malhotra who was shocked hearing Alya's name.

"what?" Cabir finally spoke up who had been a silent spectator until now.

"They were still dating Cabir so i backed off. I told dad a no when me and Manik suddenly started getting along well. we were friends and i started falling for him but i knew he was not mine until he knocked on my window one night telling me he was choosing me over Alya and how she cheated him. I like a fool believed him, happy that my love chose me but your son  had other plans mom. You once told me that i was lucky to have a guy like Manik in my life who was somewhat like my father in comparison to personalities but you were wrong , i realised that they were poles apart. My father would never betray me." nandini walked to her father who had tears in his eyes. She held his hand.

"Dad i heard him. I heard everything how this wedding was an investment to him and how he would take it all from us. I couldn't let him and i couldn't let you down too so i still married him. I wanted to snatch everything from him that he took from me. My soul, my trust. I wanted him to know how betray felt and how no jerk can just walk into our lives and take away what you've taken years to build." she started crying and Zeke knew his friend was getting her guard down so he jumped in.

"Alya had cheated me once when we were in a relationship, that's how me and nandini got connected apart from being old friends." Zeke spoke eyeing Mukti on her earlier statement, " i told her everything, how Alya betrayed me and she just wanted to run upto Manik and tell him her truth when she heard his truth from his own mouth. She was broken but determined and so was i. Manik laid hands on my family  so i helped nandini out in this entire plan but she was not a beast like him. Mr. Malhotra nandini took over Manik's share of property and not yours. The 15% that you had after loosing it in the international project. She kept it secure for you and to say about Manik's share that she took over. Well we don't need that so that has been sold and donated to a child care trust that actually needs it." Zeke explained while Nandini thanked him silently through her eyes for backing him up.

"Rubbish. dad we know Manik, he is not like that. She is just trying to cover up her betrayal through her cheap and lame excuses building up a story, making Manik the villain. I trust my brother." Mukti ran to her father asking him, she turned to nandini and said "And you. how dare you ruin my brother's character. we know he is a good guy so before i strangle you or call the cops just get out of here." 

"Mukti" Manik shouted after being mum for the entire time.

"No Manik. You don't have to be so blinded by her love. She is lying i know." Mukti kept on blabbering.

"Mukti listen to me." Manik turned her around, "Whatever she said is the truth. I did this to her. She is not lying." he spitted the truth.

Okay not freaking out but 400k on the first book of this series. i mean it is so close to 500k that i can't beleive my eyes. It will be my second book to reach such a mark and also Lost love crossed a benchmark of 660k, i am so overwhelmed.
