'The damned elf prince better thank me for this,' Aria thought as she rose from the ground. 'That is if I survive.'
Determination flowed in her veins as she threw on her fighting clothes. With each tightening of the straps, thump, her heartbeat loudly against her ribcage. She reached for the elf sword's handle. Electricity rippled violently through her hand, forcing it to snap away. Thump.
'Devil's horn,' she cursed. 'Can only Prince Elvin wield it?'
It was not as if she could wander into wherever the nymph had taken the prince with no weapons. Aria grabbed the sheath this time. At least she could bring the sword to him. Or smack the nymph on the head with it. Thump. The water swayed calmly, spilling over the edge of the lake, beckoning her closer.
Thump. Aria's breath coughed in her throat as her feet touched the water's surface. The water sprung to life and clawed at her leg, swallowing her up. The world swirled. Trapped in a vortex of water, she was dragged through a dark tunnel. Her lung burned, and water sprouted from her mouth as she resurfaced out of the deadly currents. Aria's panicked eyes looked around as she scrambled out of the pond. Muddy walls encompassed the irregularly small cave, with only a tunnel leading out. Moonlight colored fluids gilded down the tunnel's floor and onto the pond, like a little stream nurturing a large lake. With the sword's tightly against her bosom, she followed the watery trail and made her way into the darkness.
Thump. Aria's heart drummed with every step she took. Fingers gilded against the rock, the indication of where the wall was. Eventually a light in the distance came into view. Aria wondered if she had died and was about to enter heaven. Maybe she had drowned, and this was it. The light morphed into a room. Water dripped from the ceiling and onto a sizable bed at the center. The streams of water fell on the silky mattress, gliding off into the ground.
The air caught in Aria's throat.
Elvin laid naked on the bed. Each arm sprawled, strapped to the two pillars at the headboard, with only a loosely thrown wet sheet to cover his manhood. His eyes were stuck angrily to something off to the right. A figure that looked like a naked woman walked into the light and sat on his bed. Her dark hair cascaded down to her waist.
'The nymph,' Aria thought.
Elvin's eyes made contact with Aria, and he nodded his head before turning his attention back to the nymph. "You would be wise to let me go."
"But that would be no fun," the nymph answered, gliding her arms down his chiseled bare chest.
"You will 'burn' for this," Elvin spoke. The word 'burn' rumbled off his throat and into Aria's ears. Yet the nymph only smiled.
'Burn?' Aria thought, looking around, only to notice well-placed fire torches on the wall.
Aria got the hint and sneaked closer, letting the darkness of the tunnel hide her subtle form. She zipped into the room, hiding behind a girthy rock pillar on the right. The nymph crawled into Elvin's lap, straddling his waist, and moaned.
Aria tiptoed to the torch and lightly took it off its handle. Her heart almost burst when the metal clacked, sending a vibrating sound. Yet, the nymph seemed not to notice. Not questioning her luck, Aria stepped closer, the torch tightly in hand.
She swung it hard, the flame plugging and burning onto the woman. A jarring scream broke through the cave as the nymph turned. Its skin became water. Melting like a long lit candle.
"Damn you!" The nymph screamed through gargles as it became water itself, joining the slow stream that streamed down the dark cave floor.
Aria looked in shock. "That was shockingly easy," she snorted as she discarded the extinguished torch on the floor.
