Hakeem's POV

I heard banging at the door but I ignored it and tried to go back to sleep. My head was pounding. I felt terrible.

"Yazz!" Yazz!" "Man wake up!"

I slowly opened my eyes.

"Jussie?" I replied in a weak voice.

"Man how did you even get in my crib?" I replied looking around.

"You left the door unlock smart one." Replied Jussie.

"What are you doing here?" I questioned.

"I was worried about you." Replied Jussie.

"Worried about me?" "Shouldn't I be saying the same about you?" I questioned.

"Look bro, Taraji told me about your behavior on set." "You haven't been yourself." "What's up with that?" Jussie questioned.

I remain silent.

"Listen man, if anyone knows how you feel." "It's me."
"When everyone turn their back on me I was devastated." "I felt lost." "And felt as if my career was over." Replied Jussie.

"I never turned my back on you." "I defended you bro whether you were telling the truth or not." I snapped.

"I know and I appreciate that brother." Replied Jussie.

"Yazz you're the only one besides my family that I feel like I can trust." "So there's something I need to tell you." Replied Jussie.

"I'm listening." I replied.

"So about the kidnapping." "I never wanted that to happen but I was blackmailed." Replied Jussie.

"Blackmail?" "Blackmail by who?" I questioned.

"I don't wanna say too much." "All I can say is people higher up were very much involved." "But Yazz watch your back man. "Getting high off perc and xans is not helping okay."

"It's just not the same man." I replied with tears in my eyes.

"You're not even there anymore and this is our last season." "What am I gonna do after this?"

"Yazz you're talented man." "Why are you doubting yourself bro?" You're one hell of an actor." "You're more than just Empire." "You got movies under your belt." Jussie reassured.

"Even with the movies bro they still see me as Hakeem Lyon."

"Well prove them wrong man." Replied Jussie.

"Thanks man." I replied.

"No problem bro." Replied Jussie.

"How are you even giving me advice in spite of the things you've been through?" I questioned.

"Because I've seen what happened to me and I don't want that for you." "Hollywood and fame can destroy you if you let them win." "Don't let them win."

I remain silent.

"Well ima headed out." "And bro wash your ass." Jussie replied by throwing a pillow at me.

I responded by throwing up my middle finger.

"Later bro."

Again I know this is short but the chapters are coming. I literally had to go back and reread this story because it's been so long since I've updated it. Thought I'll give you guys an update. Hope you enjoy it and have a Merry Christmas 🎁
