Hogwarts looked more magnificent than Harry could've ever imagined. Even in the dark. Harry and Luna watched through the entry gate, seeing only the occasional teacher wandering the grounds on the nightshift watch.

Harry looked to over at Luna. "Do we just go in or...?"

Luna gave a quiet laugh. "No, silly. I'm gunna send a letter to Dumbledore first."

"Saying what, exactly?"

"That Snape and Trelawney want to talk to him," Luna explained. "Of course, we'll have to get some hair of theirs but that shouldn't be a problem. Both of them are likely still back at your school, so this should be fine."

Harry did not want to think about how getting hair from two teachers wouldn't be a problem, so he didn't. "What if they're at Hogwarts, though?"

"Then I'll find out and we can secure them before our meeting." Luna gave a dreamy smile, and Harry again was tempted to ask the mountains of questions his brain conjured, but didn't.

Luna led him to a small village by the castle that Harry was impressed with, even though no one was our and about.

"It's called Hogsmeade," Luna told him.

"That's a dumb name."

"Wizards do a lot of that."

They spent the night in the Three Broomsticks. Luna had to stupefy the worker, which Harry thought was a bit rude but he got to see more magic so he was ok with it. Luna, before she went to bed, sent off the planned letter.

"Everything is going well, Harry," she said to Harry before she drifted off to sleep, "I have high hopes for tomorrow evening."

Albus Dumbledore stared, dumbfounded at the letter resting on his desk. The bird who delivered it had flown off, apperantly too tired of waiting for a response. It claimed to be from Severus Snape. Perhaps, under different circumstances, Albus would've believed the letter was legit and welcomed Trelawney and him into his office to spill his plan.

Under different circumstances.

Albus looked up from the letter, staring into the eyes of Severus Snape, who looked indifferent but felt just as surprised as Albus had.

"A fake," Albus pondered. "Who could've sent it?"

Snape sneered. "Do not play dumb, Albus. It's obviously the Potter brat and his runaway companion."

"What makes you think so?"

"Use your brain, Albus, unless you've lost it with old age?"

Albus chuckled. "Yes, the timing is immaculate. Runaway Luna is spotted in Harry's hometown, then they both disappear, and a few days later, a letter from someone pretending to be you arrives at my doorstep demanding answers, something I'm sure young Harry wants deeply."

Severus raises an eyebrow. "One to state the obvious, Albus."

"The better question," Albus continued, "is what we are to do now."

"That's hardly a question, Albus," Severus snapped, "You agree to meeting them, we wait for them to show and then capture their rebellious asses. Obvilate the boy and force the girl to attend Hogwarts again. Are you really so dull you cannot comprehend such obvious plans?"

Albus ignored the insult. "A few days Oblivate, Severus. That's what we would need to preform to keep him from to keep the little secret of magic from him."

"I still do not understand the problem," Snape drawled, "Or the reason. There is no reason not to inform Potter about his magical bloodline and I cannot comprehend the reason why you insist upon it."

"An Oblivate of that level could completely destroy his mind. As for the reason," Albus tutted, "the answer is very simple; the prophecy, Snape."

Severus raises an eyebrow. "What are we to do with the brat if we cannot erase his memories? And the prophecy has nothing to do with this."

"The prophecy has everything to do with this," Albus stated simply, clearing ending that branch of conversation. "We will have to risk it."

Severus hid his surprise well. "Risk destroying his mind completely? I haven't known you to be such a risk taker, Albus."

Albus chuckled. "We will have a mind Healer on the scene. It will keep him from complete insanity, at least. And it may not even effect him as much as I predict it to. Either way, it is important to adknowledge how vital to everything keeping Harry in the dark is."

Snape sighed. "Very well, Albus. I will write the letter once I return to my quarters. Will tomorrow evening be the best time to invite 'Snape' and 'Trelawney' here?"

"That would do fine," Albus said. "Remember, Severus. This is for the greater good."

"I'm sure," Snape responded dryly. He stood, not waiting to be formally dismissed and left the office. He could feel Dumbledore's stare on his retreating figured, but it was not one of suspicion, but of the small sorrow that came with departure of an old friend; which he was grateful for. The second he left the office, Dumbledore feeling mountains away, he allowed himself a grin.

His plan had worked out better than expected, all thanks to his seat companion and her prophet-like nature. He was one step closer to figuring out the truth.

Meanwhile, the real Severus Snape graded chemistry papers and watched to see if the Potter boy would return.
