May POV

The girls and I were changing into some of the dresses that they had in their trunks. I had only changed out of my jeans and tee shirt because Lucy insisted that I haven't actually lived until I've worn a Narnian dress. Susan had lent me one that was dark green with gold trim along the neckline and some brown slip on shoes. It was quite comfortable, and it fit me pretty well. I braided my hair making sure to leave the short pieces out in front to frame my face.

I noticed Susans bow and it brought up a memory of the one that I owned back home.

"You know I have one of these back home."

"Oh really?" She said with a smirk.

"Yeah. It's basically all I do, I don't really have friends so it's what I spend most of my time doing."

"Well I'm glad we have something in common. We definitely have to practice together once we figure out what is going on."

"Or maybe a little friendly competition? I'll have you know that I don't necessarily miss." I said with a playful grin.

I hope we become friends.

The boys walked back into the room in different clothes as well, and Edmund stopped in his tracks when he looked at me, making the room go quiet. Peter elbowed him slightly and he came back to whatever planet we were currently on.

This is a little awkward.

"Narnian clothes fit you well, May." Peter said with a smile.

"Thanks." I smiled back.

"Uh, yes you look quite wonderful." Edmund said after breaking his gaze once again.

Still awkward, Ed.

Ed POV

Of course Susan had to put her in THAT dress. The one that I picked out for Su for her 17th birthday. That dress always looked marvelous on Susan, but on Margaret, it was breathtaking. Literally.

Take a deep breath and stop acting like a chump. Just be normal.

May POV

We stood there in awkward silence for a moment before Susan cleared her throat.

"Alright so, this has been awkward. Let's get a move on then." She said walking up the stairs. I followed right after her.

Once we were back on the beach and a few feet away from the boys, I asked her what that was all about.

"I don't know, Ed is quick witted in almost every situation. I guess seeing you in his favorite dress of mine threw him off a bit." She said with a devilish grin.

My jaw dropped.

Seriously Susan.

Lucy laughed and said, "That was a good one Su! Totally threw him off! I don't think I've ever seen Ed so speechless."

I could tell they were enjoying this.

"Why on earth would you want your brother to look at me like that?"

She sighed and rolled her eyes because I ruined her joke.

"He's the sarcastic one and he always has something to say. I saw the way he looked at you on the beach. So, I wanted to tease him a little, since he's the one that is always teasing us."

I rolled my eyes. "You're hilarious." I said in a dry tone.

Susan smiled, but it was short lived. She raised her eyes to the bank of the river ahead of us and I darted my eyes to what she was seeing. We saw two soldiers in a boat with a small being in their clutches. She immediately knocked an arrow on her bow and aimed it at the boat.
