JIMIN
The wind pushes snowflakes into me and they bite and nip at my warm face. I think I'm making quite the sight - a lonely boy standing in the midst of white nature against a single blue postbox. The train tracks are a few metres away and I wince at the thought of the sound of the train as it shrieks by.
My eyes dart about - it's human nature, I suppose, to be extremely worried when something goes absolutely wrong.
"Jimin!" a voice is chopped up by the wind and I think I may be hallucinating. But bless the gods, I am not. I swivel to my left and Jungkook's jogging towards me in the distance with our bags.
"You carried these all the way here?" I ask in shock as he comes panting in front of me. In spite of everything, he's grinning like the smuggest person in the world. His cheeks are flushed now more than ever and his hair is a wreck of loose curls and locks. The bags thud onto the snow as he drops them.
"No, some witnesses decided to help a runaway carry his crap," he says calmly. I furrow my brows and he laughs. He actually bloody laughs.
"I'm kidding, they did not do such a thing. I carried it by myself," he beams. I eye him warily and nod, wetting my lips because they are on the verge of cracking. I pick up my luggage as if I'm about to head off into the white nothingness.
"What now?" Jungkook asks nervously.
"Oh God does that seem like a question we've been asking a lot too frequently? I think so," I mumble faintly as I realise that there truly is nothing left to do.
"Is there a town nearby?" Jungkook asks and I can't help but snort.
"If there were, it wouldn't have been on the train route," I say bitterly.
"Huh?" he tilts his head in confusion and I shake my head, too tired to explain. My stomach hurts from running right after eating, my eyes are stinging from the snow and my lips are so dry.
"But you're right," I sigh. His head perks back up.
"What about?"
"We have no other choice. We'll have to go to another town," I say finally.
"But. you just said it's too far."
"Yes, but if we head back to the previous station, it's a shorter distance than the one ahead of us."
"So we're taking a step back."
"Yes, we are taking a step back. A step we'll have to take if we ever want to move forward again."

I'll give it to Jungkook, he really is resilient. Or just stubborn and stupid.
He's sucking it up and walking alongside me in silence - as much silence as howling wind allows anyway. The town should not be more than five hours away on foot and we should be able to reach by night.
"What do you want to be when you grow up?" Jungkook suddenly pipes up.
"Grow up? Aren't I already grown up?"
"You're nineteen. That's grown up."
I laugh haughtily and chew on the inside of my cheek.
"Hmm... I guess I've never really thought about that. Father would've wanted me to just take over his business," I shrug.
"I wanted to be a businessman," Jungkook offers.
"Firstly, wanted? Why the past tense? Secondly, why a businessman?"
"Well, business school only has space for the upper class and businessmen because businessmen make a lot of money. I want to make a lot of money," he says wistfully.
"Money? What for?" I ask, eyeing his side profile as he stares at his feet as he walks.
"To support Dae - although she'll probably already make money with a high-paying job. To support me? To explore the world?" he says like he's not quite sure of it himself.
"Why's there no mention of finding love in there? You seem like a romantic," I tease and elbow his side lightly. He looks up in surprise and I raise my brows.
"What?"
"Nothing, it's just... a joke and playful physical touch? I'd say we're becoming friends," he grins widely and nudges me back. My eyes widen and I look away from him and focus on what's in front of me.
"Would you rather we stay professional then, Mr..." I trail off and look at him to finish his name.
"Jeon," he rolls his eyes.
"Mr Jeon," I say pointedly.
"Fine, whatever, Mr Park. But, well, no mention of love because... I don't know," he shrugs. I give him a good look.
"Well, I hope you'll know one day."
