JUNGKOOK
I have no idea who Dr Kim is.
And I have no idea why Jimin seems so on-edge.
And I have no idea who this Mi Cha person is.
And I certainly had no idea about Jimin's father's death.
I feel, strangely, like a third wheel - like I'm interrupting something very very very important to Jimin.
"Jimin and I have to go somewhere," I say, removing Dr Kim's hands from Jimin's.
"No, I'll get off the next stop with you," Jimin finally says and when I turn to look at him in disbelief, he's straining a smile.
I start to panic. If Jimin gets off at the next stop, that means I just spent a hell lot of money on his ticket and he's never going to pay me back. I mean - he could pay me back but... still, no. Dr Kim seems untrustworthy. But, who am I to judge? They know each other. I can probably still survive on my own without Jimin - I didn't need a Jimin in my original plan.
This reassurance makes me feel less down about Jimin's decision.
Dr Kim smiles at Jimin's answer and stands.
"I will go grab my bags," he grins before leaving.
I sit at where Dr Kim once sat when Jimin suddenly grabs my hands and starts hissing at me. His cold hands make me jolt.
"The moment we get off at the next stop, we run," he says hastily as he starts unpacking his bag. I frown and stand.
"What're you talking about?" I say incredulously, "you're on your own."
He pauses and looks at me as he slides a trenchcoat on. His blood-red lips are parted and his silver hair is tousled. He tilts his head as he slides his arms into his coat.
"What do you mean?"
"I mean- why would I go with you? We don't need each other anymore- in fact, if I recall, you were the one who said that after this train ride, we'd have nothing to do with each other anymore," I protest. Something seems to click in his head as his lips turn down in realisation.
"Well, the train ride isn't over yet, is it?" he says, sliding his gun into his trenchcoat.
My eyes widen.
"What're you doing?" I say, feeling panic rise within me.
"You can't just shoot anyone you have an issue with!" I argue.
"I'm not," he brushes my words off.
"Just pay the ticket money back," I say irritatedly. There's no use in the favour.
He stops and looks at me, his brown eyes assessing me.
"Okay then," he says quietly, flipping through some notes before handing me cash.
I take it hesitantly - a part of me actually hoping he'd beg me to come with or something. But that'd be stupid.
I pocket the cash in my bag when Dr Kim opens the door.
"Our stop's approaching soon," Dr Kim beams and Jimin nods awkwardly, giving me a last look.
I look out the window as Jimin zips his suitcase up.
"Is your friend not coming with us?" Dr Kim nods towards me. I fluster and shake my head.
"Oh, no I'm not," I force a smile.
"I'm sorry, I don't think I made myself clear, is your friend coming?" Dr Kim repeats as he reveals the inside of his jacket - a gun.
I laugh out loud as Jimin turns pale.
JIMIN
He's crazy. He's actually crazy. Both of the males in this cabin are crazy. Dr Kim's about to shoot Jungkook for some reason because he has to come. And Jungkook's laughing. Oh my God.
"I'm sorry, what?" Jungkook clarifies after his laughter stops.
"You heard me. Are you not coming with us?" Dr Kim repeats.
"Why do you need him to come?" I ask seriously.
"Collateral damage. No one can know that you're running away. It would seriously hurt Mi Cha's imagine would it not?" he asks innocently.
And then it hits me.
Dr Kim was tipped. Someone told Mi Cha I ran away. And somehow it's Dr Kim who's meant to bring me home.
"Jungkook, get up, we're leaving," I say icily as I block him from Dr Kim's view.
"Why would you ever want to rat on your mother?" Dr Kim shakes his head sadly.
"Who told you I was running away? How do you even know Mi Cha that well?" I demand as Jungkook remains seated.
"Damn it, Jungkook, get up!" I grit as I drag him up, still eyeing Dr Kim.
"Do you still not understand? What a pity. I thought your father's intelligence might've been passed down to you," his words ooze sympathy. The realisation sinks my entire being - like bricks slowly being thrown at me.
"You- you were in on it," I say shakily. He smiles.
"Oh my God- you sick bastard-" I shout as I lunge for his collar.
"Jimin!" Jungkook yells as I shove Dr Kim onto the floor, punching his face. His old, evil, wrinkled shit face.
