'There are just some secrets that are worth our lives keeping.'

Son Chaeyoung's Pov:

I swear, I don't really like get togethers. I mean like, it's all just about bragging about how you're doing and how inferior the others appears to you. And right now? Yes, my parents called over all our relatives and even their old classmates to come to my grandfather's 85th birthday. It's not like I don't want to celebrate my grandfather's birthday but it's just that, this whole thing? This isn't the way I wanted us to celebrate it.

"Chaeyoung, are you even paying attention?" I lifted my gaze from my phone and meet my father's eyes with disinterest.

I hid my phone in my pocket and said,
"Yeah dad, sorry I was just checking something."

He looked at me seriously before looking away saying,
"You're always on your social media, at least learn to look at business papers not those good for nothing articles."

I said nothing to that, he tapped my arm lightly and said with a low tone as he stood up.
"The guests are here, try to make a good impression." with that I stood up and fixed my blazer and ran a hand on my short dark locks.

He then introduced me to his 'old friends' and told them this and that, and how I'll soon take over the company that our family owns, which is not really gonna happen because I'm not really interested in it.

Dad wants me to do business but I want arts. Yeah, it sucks but there's nothing I can do about that.

"Just where did your good-for-nothing brother went off to again?" I heard my father mumbled as he looks around. Speaking of that old brother of mine. To be honest, I really want him to take our father's spot instead of me but it's our dad who wants it to be me. Why? Because my older brother is such a troublemaker, he do all kinds of stuffs that you wouldn't want to do in order to protect your own reputation. And mainly because he's my father's son with his ex-wife, where their relationship didn't end quite well so that explains why he's also not in good terms with my older brother.

Jeongyeon, in my own point of view he's nothing but just an arrogant yet playful guy. I'll admit even we, are not in good terms. Well for me I don't have a problem with him but it was him who is acting a bit off towards me and I understand how it is. But no matter how rude he acts I'm still not lashing it out on him.

"There he is." I said and motioned to the figure a few meters away from us. He was talking to a girl around his age, and I bet he's hitting on her, as usual.

"Just what is he doing again? He better not be doing what I think he's doing." I just shrugged.

"Stay here and talk to some of the guests. I'll make sure your brother doesn't do anything stupid." then I watched him walk toward Jeongyeon's direction.

I stood there for a few moment and talked to some guests, making sure to entertain them just as my father wanted me to until I got bored and went out to the garden.

It was more quiet there than inside the mansion, I took a breather and relaxed my mind, I closed my eyes while sitting on the wooden bench when I felt someone slightly hit me at the back of my head making my head jerk forward a bit.

I opened my eyes to see an annoyed look of my older brother,
"You told Kibum that I'm flirting with a girl again just now, didn't you? When will you ever mind your own business?"

I rubbed the back of my head and said with a calm tone,
"I didn't. I only told him where you're at."

"And because of that he thinks I'm flirting."

"Well he wasn't wrong about that.." I mumbled.

"What was that?"

"Nothing." I have him a quick glance before looking away. In my peripheral view he put both his hands on his waist and said,
