After packing a few things, Julie and the stranger she was with used Kait’s car and they were heading to an unknown destination.  The stranger was driving as Julie looked through the book.

“Can’t we just do that shifting thing to get where ever it is you’re taking me?” She asked as she flipped the pages one by one.

“I’m not sure what the place looks like so we could get lost.” Julie glanced at him for a moment, and his silver eyes never left the road; she turned back to the book.

“I don’t understand any of this.  What is it Latin?”

The stranger laughed, “A mix of Latin and Demon.”

Julie blushed and closed the book on her lap, “Where are we going?”

“To a safe house.”

“Are you going to tell me what going on when we get there?”

The stranger nodded his head.

“Are you going to tell me your name at least?” Julie was looking at the man as she said this and she saw his eyes dull for a moment.

“I don’t have a name.”

“Everyone has a name.”

“I’m not everyone.”

Julie grunted, frustrated, as she looked out the window of the car again, her fingers drumming on the face of the leather book as she did so.  The drumming noise lasted several minutes before she let out a sigh and looked out the front windshield at the road.

“I used to be called Michael.”

Julie looked over at the stranger sitting next to her, “What do you mean when you say ‘used to be called Michael’?”

“It’s what I was called before I became what I am.” He answered, keeping his eyes on the road.

“And what are you?”

“The same thing your boyfriend is. I was fortunate enough to be with a powerful Witch that saved part of me.”

“So you’re still whatever it is that came from this book?”

He nodded his head, “I’m not sure how your boyfriend got a hold of that book, but it’s a very important book to the Underworld.”

“Stop calling him my boyfriend.”

“I’m sorry the images in my head said otherwise,” This time his eyes moved to her for a moment before going back to the road.

Julie blushed again and looked away, “He’s not my boyfriend and technically he wasn’t human at the time either.”

There was silence in the car again for another several minutes.

“What’s the Underworld?” Julie asked as she kept her eyes focused outside the passenger side window.

“That’s a world that the human race usually knows nothing about.  Good vs. Evil, save the human race kind of stuff.”

“So like Heaven vs. Hell?”

He shrugged his shoulders, “Yeah, something like that.”

“And now why am I part of this?” Julie turned to look at Michael this time, hoping for some sort of indicator through his body language.

He shrugged again, “You’re just lucky I guess.”
