Chloe looked to her cut lip and her black eye. She knew Patrick had done it to her. And she didn't want to speak to him because of it.  She wasn't one of those girls. And she knew she wasn't going to become one of those girls.

Chloe looked to her phone as it rang and declined the call. Evie walked in. Chloe looked at her and smiled. "Hey," she said as she pulled her close and hugged her.

Evie frowned. "What happen?" She asked as she placed a hand on Chloe's cheek.

Chloe flinched against her touch. She smiled as she looked at her little girl. She grinned. "Nothing for you to worry about. It was an accident. Okay? I'm okay," Chloe told her.

Evie looked to her and smiled. Chloe knew that she was far from okay. She couldn't believe how Patrick had hit her. And it changed everything.

It changed how she felt about him. And how she saw him. She never thought that he would be someone who hurt her. And the fact he laid his hands on her scared her more than she would like to admit.

She never thought he was that type of man.

Chloe walked through the village. She saw Josie. Josie looked to her and frowned. "What the hell happened?" Josie asked as she saw Chloe's face.

Chloe looked to her and smiled. "Nothing. I...I'm fine," Chloe said.

Josie frowned as she looked at her. "You're not fine Chloe. He did this to you. Didn't he?" Josie asked as Chloe nodded. Josie sighed. "He won't get away with this. Just stay away from him. This is what he does. He hurts bad. He abuses people. And I don't want you to end up hurt. First he hits you. And then he abuses you mentally and physically. And then it gets worse. You're my best friend. You've been my rock lately. And I don't want to see you go through hell because of him. You and Evie are better off without him. I mean, what if it's her next time?" Josie said.

Chloe frowned. "He wouldn't."

"He would. And he has before. You're better off without him," Josie said.

Chloe looked to her and frowned. Realising how much she didn't know Patrick. And how he wasn't the man she thought he was.

Chloe walked out of price slice as she saw Patrick. They held a look as she went to walk off. Patrick grabbed her arm. Chloe glared. "Get the hell off me. Or else I will scream," Chloe said.

Patrick let her go. He sighed. "Please. I just want to talk," he told her.

Chloe scoffed. "What? So you can make out that it's my fault? And maybe beat me some more? Or maybe start on Evie. No. You are not going to talk your way out of this. This thing, us, it is done with. We're done with. Now leave me alone," Chloe said as she walked off.

But could Chloe really end what she had with Patrick?
