A Heartwarming Batfamily Christmas
A/N: Hello all my beautiful chicken nuggies! I am so sorry, an update is long overdue. I have lost motivation to write for a while. I have been ghosting around on here reading other books. Recently my boyfriend reminded me how much I love writing and why I should continue. So happy holidays to everyone and please enjoy.
Y/n's POV
Christmas is something we take seriously in Wayne Manor. I help the decorating team every year. This year I decided to go with Grinchmas! With dad being the Grinch of course due to his grumpy demeanor. We even have cardboard cut outs of Whoville on our lawn. The only thing left that I need to do is pick a dress for our party, most of the women guests will probably wear a dark color dress, or maybe even white. No one has really come in a vibrant color to our parties because it says "Black Tie" on the invitations. I'm looking for a green dress and a matching tie for Roy who agreed to be my date. Hopefully, Jay doesn't mind."Hey little bat, who are you bringing as a date to the party?" Dick asked walking into my room sitting on my bed.
"Roy, I asked him to come with me a month ago." I answered nonchalantly. Dick squealed, but Jason who was walking by my room was not so happy with what he heard.
"What made you think it was okay to ask Roy?" he asked upset.
"I mean he isn't just your friend Jay, what is the big deal?" I looked at him waiting for what he calls a good reason.
"He is my best friend, and you are my little sister. That is the big deal. Find a new date, I am telling Roy he can't come." Jason said walking out the door.
"Well someone is grumpy" Dick mumbled. I burst into laughter.
"There is no way he can stop Roy from going. I will go tell dad if he does. Oliver is coming tonight, so Roy probably would have managed ending up here somehow." I said confidently.
"I agree little bat. You deserve to be happy, and to have a decent date." Dick stood up from the bed and walked out the room shooting me a wink.
I decided to shuffle my Christmas Jams playlist to get in the spirit and just dance around until I need to start getting ready for tonight. I brushed my hair down into a low bun and left curled tendrils to frame my face. I chose a dark smokey eye makeup look for tonight, and a bold burgundy lip. My dress is a beautiful emerald green, and I am wearing a pair of vans underneath instead of heels. I arrived through the back door at the party to avoid pictures. I met with Roy at the buffet table.
"Hey handsome" I greeted him giving him a quick kiss on the cheek. His hand went to my waist as he pulled me into his side.
"Hi princess, I didn't see you walk through the front." He said in my ear.
"I went through the back. I didn't mean to come late." I told him.
"I'm just glad you didn't let Jason stop you from coming with me" we walked away from the table out onto the balcony.
"He wasn't going to stop me from seeing someone that makes me happy." I slipped my hand in Roy's. He intertwined our fingers immediately.
"So much for telling them that we are a couple tonight" He said with a shrug.
"I still plan on telling them. I am sure dad already knows." I laughed at the thought of my dad checking my location trying to figure out where I go all day.
"I mean they don't call him the greatest detective for nothing." I smiled at Roy's joke. I rested my head on his shoulder. We have been dating for six months without telling my family. I thought this was going to be a Christmas surprise. I couldn't keep lying to them about who I was hanging out with. We sat down, on the bench that was near the edge of the balcony. While we were in deep conversation, I heard multiple footsteps approach us from behind us. I turned around to see my dad and brothers. They were smiling. Dick was smiling like the Cheshire Cat.
"This is why you asked him?" Jason asked pointing between the two of us. I nodded in response. "You could have told me kid I would have been understanding eventually." He continued.
"I know Jay, but you get really overprotective. I wanted to take time to figure this out. I had to do it without family intervention. Roy makes me happy, there's no one else I would rather be with than him tonight." I explained. After that Jason smiled, even Damien cracked a small one.
"All we want is for you to be happy sweetheart. I'm glad he's making you happy." Bruce said before walking over placing a kiss on my head. "Merry Christmas you two" he shook Roy's hand and walked back into the party. My brothers followed, except Jason stayed behind.
"You chose a good man. He's one of the only people I know that I could trust with your heart little bat. Take good care of her Roy. I know where you live." Jason threatened his friend wholeheartedly walking away.
"That went wonderful" Roy said cracking a smile. The way it reached his eyes showed how genuine it was. I leaned in and gave him a kiss, wrapping my arms around his neck. He pulled me closer to him accepting the kiss.
"Merry Christmas Roy" I whispered pulling away.
"Merry Christmas princess" he kissed my forehead. "Let's get you home"
