3rd Person POV
Everyone knew that Y/n and Dick were one of the best couple's people have seen. They of course have problems like every couple, but they handle it privately. They don't post everything that they go through on social media like people in their peer group have done. This year is their five-year anniversary, which also happens to be Y/n's 21st birthday. His big gift to her was to pop the question. Sure, they are young, but he knows that he wants this. He knows that he's ready to make this move in their relationship.
Tonight, he was going to take her on a rooftop picnic at sunset. He's going to have Wally record the proposal for them. Throughout the day Dick had everyone distract Y/n. M'gann and Artemis took her to get her hair and nails done. Barbara took her to buy a new outfit. Y/n requested to do her own makeup. Dick will be picking her up at 7 to escort her to the surprise date.
Dick's POV
As I was setting for the date, I started to think about all the good times that Y/n and I have had over the years. I love that nothing was easily able to break us apart. We've made a good duo in my opinion whether it be on the team or in our normal lives as a couple. I've been planning this proposal for a few months now. Writing her a song was a process even though it is short. I checked my phone once I was done setting up to see I had 15 minutes to make it to our apartment. It's a good thing I'm already dressed, and Wally is already here somewhere probably eating waiting for his cue to come video tape.
Once in the elevator I fiddled with the box in my pocket. I'm not nervous by any means, I am more so just anxious to get it done. I didn't want to wait any longer to marry Y/n. Once I made it to the first floor, I briskly walked out the door to get to my car that was parked in the front of the building. Sitting behind the wheel starting the car I took a deep breath. I started the drive to our shared apartment which took a shorter amount of time than I thought it would. I unbuckled my seatbelt and exited the car. I walked up the four flights of stairs, and all the way down the hall to our door. When I unlocked the door, my heart began to race. This is the day; I caan do this. I walked inside to see Y/n dressed in a new f/c dress that complimented her s/c skin greatly. She looked great she always does but I mean wow. I really can't wait to make her my wife.
"Hey babe you look great." I complimented her walked towards her to give her a hug.
"You look great too thickness" she replied laughing wrapping her arms around me.
"Thickness? Really Y/n? What the hell." I burst out laughing. I pulled away from her shaking my head. Once our laughter 'Come on let's go. We have reservations ma'am.' I grabbed her hand and started pulling her towards the door. She grabbed her purse was by the door and shut the door behind us. We walked down to the car and when we got inside the car, I blindfolded her carefully not ruining her makeup.
"Why is this needed?" she asked pouting.
"It's a surprise silly" I replied. She huffed and went along with what I had to say. As the music played lightly in the background, I asked Y/n to describe her day for me. As she went on about her day, I laughed at how animated she got. Once we made it, I ran to her side of the car and let her out. I led her into the building and straight into the elevator, I pressed the roof button as the doors closed. Once we made it to the roof, I untied her blindfold and once she saw the picnic that I set up for her a smile spread across her face.
"Let's go sit down and eat. I made your favorite." I said smiling at her. She grabbed my hand pulling me towards the blanket to sit down. As we talked a little longer I waited for the perfect moment to text Wally that it's time to record. Y/n stood up and walked over to the edge to get a view of the city at sunset. Since she wasn't looking at me I ran over to grab the guitar that I hid behind a wall and walked back to her starting play. Once she turned I started singing the song that I wrote for her.
I met this girl who rocked my world

"Y/n will you marry me?"
"YES!" she exclaimed jumping into my arms.
A/N: Im sure y'all gave up on this story and probably thought that I did too. School and work at the same time was just rough to tackle. I'll try and come back to writing in my free time. I might even post an Avengers Book, I still havent decided. Shoooooooot I might even put some an original story that I have been working on.
