Jason x Reader

Jason's POV

I am just strolling along the streets of Gotham after patrolling. It's two in the morning and I am starving. I wonder if I am near a diner that is still open now. Just as the thought came to my mind I turned the corner to see a small restaurant with the lights on. I pulled my helmet off and walked inside. The girl at the counter looked up at me.

"Hiya handsome. You look like you need some coffee" she said putting a mug in front of me pouring freshly brewed coffee into it.

"Thank you" I said quietly.

"Do you need anything to eat Red Hood?" she asked with a shy smile. I was shocked she called me that.

"If you have French toast I would love some" I answered her.

"You got it babe" she said going back into the kitchen and started cooking for me. I loved how she was happy. She was rocking a Twenty-One Pilots hat and a flannel with the lyrics "Quiet is violent" from their song Car Radio. She was wearing a gold necklace I swear that I have seen before. When she came back with my food I looked at her necklace that said "Babygirl" on it.

"Thanks..." I awkwardly thanked her not knowing her name.

"Y/n, Y/n L/n and you're welcome" she said with a smile.

"Y/n L/n? Didn't you move to Central City after Jason Todd's death?" I asked her and she tensed up and touched her necklace. When she did this I knew it was my Y/n.

"Yes, how would you know that?" she asked softly.

"The old man told me" I said hoping she would realize it was me. She looked up at me.

"Jay called Bruce that" she said with a tear running down her cheek. I jumped over the counter and put my hands on her cheeks wiping the tears away.

"Babygirl it's me" I said and she looked me in the eyes.

"How do I know it's you?" she asked

"How do I know that you accidentally stepped on a flower and then apologized to Poison Ivy for doing it because you felt bad?" I asked her laughing at the memory. Y/n wrapped her arms around me. I brought her head to my chest as she started to cry.

"How are you alive?" she asked.

"The Lazarus Pit. I would've come tried to find you sooner, but I was too dangerous to be around you. I didn't want to hurt you." I answered her playing with her hair.

"I've missed you so much Jay" she said looking up at me.

"I've missed you too Y/n" I said before kissing her forehead.

"How about I close the diner and we go to the park" she suggested with a smile.

"That would be great" I said handing her my plate of half eaten French toast. She took it and put it in the kitchen. She set the alarm and turned off the lights. I grabbed my helmet and headed out the door with her. We walked to the closest park hand in hand. Once we got there we went straight to the swing set. We didn't say much just sat on the swings enjoying the company of one another. After all these years this girl still owns the key to my heart. Once she started swinging I noticed the carefree look she had on her face, I missed this I missed her. I am never leaving her again, by choice anyway.
